Happy 1st of December!

I'm happy to say the gifts are all wrapped and ready. Today will be tidying and putting up the tree. Doing a bit of decorating and baking some goodies.

I hope this month is a special blessing to each of you. It is a busy month but I do hope each of us will take time to slow down enjoy each day as it comes to us.

Wow Denise! You're very inspiring! I'm still waiting for my family to give me their Christmas wish lists. I've almost got the inside of the house decorated....a few touches left for the outside. We should all post photos to share and inspire each other! Maybe create a new thread? Enjoy the day and season!

I have two trees up. One is done in all the vintage ornaments and the other is done in ornaments given to us or made for us. I was distressed because I haven't been able to find the ornament my dad gave me from my mom. I had it last year. So it has to be somewhere. Just hoping I didn't put it in the wrong box and give it to goodwill when we downsized. We had such a large tree in our old house and now we have a smaller one and the second tree is a skinny one I've had for years. But we did downsize many of the ornaments. I still have some I decided not to put one the tree this year. But looked through all those to make sure mom's wasn't there.

I have almost got the Grinchies this year. The pre-lit tree is up and is so pretty with the multi-colored lights. I have all the Christmas boxes down from the attic and I really don't feel like putting ornaments on the tree. It also means less for Dawson to take off the tree if he gets away from us - he is a very fast crawler, and getting faster every day. LOL!

One done. Have to finish smaller tomorrow because I'm tired and still have things to clean up. I'll share a picture of that one when I can.

Denise, your tree looks so pretty!! I do hope you find your Mom's old ornaments that your Dad saved for you. Hopefully they will be in a box that you will find and that they will not be damaged from the move..

Linda, I understand your situation completely!! For sure the lower ornaments have to be non-breakable . Oh how I remember those days!! LOL!!!

Warren had hand surgery this past Monday so I am not sure about a real tree this year. He has a brace on his hand and wont' be able to use it normally for several weeks due to the nature of all the repairs that have to heal and then be used very slowly. But no worries, I have my little faux tree that is up all year and just took off the fall and thanksgiving ornaments today. I finally got all the fall packed away and a few Christmas things out like my Advent calendar and made my little Advent wreath since today is the first Sunday in Advent. A few years ago, I found these really cute cards that had the front as an Advent calendar. I sent one to my sister Ellen and she and I use them every year together. It has become a new tradition that just happened. We have fun doing it together.

Oh Winnie I do hope all goes well with healing for Warren's hand. Your advent card with your sister sounds like fun.

We had our church's Cantata tonight. Everything went well. We all remembered our parts for the singing and no one messed up. The skit went well also and the children also did their parts of singing their song well too. They are always so cute!

Love that picture and the quote from Calvin Coolidge. His quote is so very true and in our fast paced society of wealth, we forget what really matters sometimes.

Denise, what a pretty tree and such lovely decorations.

I've taken out my tree. It's a simple tree ... a Whoville tree. And there's this dude that Hangs around! lol

I love my Whoville tree. It puts a smile on my face every time I look at it.

Cheers!

Oh, my! I'd love to get a Whoville Tree for my husband. He says he is a Grinch. Where did you find that tree. I looked it up and there are some, but I like yours better. LOL!
