My BIL will be 71 tomorrow so I made my first ever cake from Scratch! Wow! I give all Farmgirl Wildflowers who make their cakes and everything from scratch a big high five. I made a Peach Pound Cake! It took me an 1 1/2 just to get it all together then an hour in the oven. It turned out great! It looks great and if it taste half as good as the batter I will be happy!

Big Hugs,
Debbie

Oh my goodness - that looks delicious! What a lucky BIL indeed!

When things get back to normal, maybe you could share the recipe?

Yum,

Pick me up too!!

Yesterday I tried a knock off Starbucks lemon pound cake recipe. It went together well. It was so beautiful when it came out of the oven! I let it cool and then made the glaze/drizzle for the top. I couldn’t wait to slice into it…so I did just that. Took a bite…chewed…chewed some more…had a weird look on my face…and then decided that it didn’t taste good. I checked my lemon extract and realized it was bad. It was a sad day in my kitchen. But I’m giggling about it a bit today! :)

You pound cake looks so yummy Debbie. I cook almost everything from scratch and love is the main ingredient in everything, I bet you bil appreciated it.

Thank you all so much. It was a lot of work to make it but the look on my BIL’s face priceless. It really was good for my first one.
