We drove through our little town yesterday and flags lined our streets, I wish I had gotten a picture to share. We are one of hte flag cities here, even tho we're small. We sponsored a flag in my father in laws name a few years back, so it's special to know one of hundreds of flags is his. I'm thinking I want to do the same for My Mr. Frank. I find it almost breath taking to drive through town and see so many flags fluttering in the wind, lineing our streets. It really is beautiful!

April you have stirred up a happy memory for me. We always had vacation around July 4 growing up, and always went to the beaches in SC. It was such a thrill to drive through the small towns because every single one would have flags flying along Main Street and in the yards. A few towns still do, but not as many.

A day hemmed in prayer is less likely to unravel.

I was just thinking today about the patriotism I see in all the many flags put out. Here you can have a flag put up for each holiday from memorial day to labor day. You can donate in a person's name and they will put a flag in your yard along the street for each person you donate for. Some have 1 and some have 2 but it is so pretty to see them lining the streets here.

I just love flag day and all who honor it! Today is my start of putting flags out to honor all veterans living and no longer with us. Once I get them all up I will take a photo.

Our big flag and my smaller flag on my anchor to honor Toms Brother who is visiting. He is a Navy Vetetan.

Big Hugs,
Debbie

There’s a small town near where April and I live that really gets into the patriotic spirit every year. My sister lived there years ago. On the 4th of July they would send groups out through the neighborhoods and put small flags on everyone’s mailboxes. They would set off their big fireworks display off of the Rimrock above town and everyone could see it from wherever you were. She always joked that the 4th of July wasn’t complete until the hill was on fire…:).

That sounds awesome!

Love the flags Debbie. I just have one out front.
