Does anyone have a tried and true recipe for baked salmon they would share?
The first time I ever made it I used a recipe I found and it was very mushy. Tonight I made a honey garlic sauce and it came out well but there really wasn't much taste to the sauce. I mean you could taste a hint of honey and even the garlic was hard to distinguish. The fish came out perfectly cooked. Looking for a marinade or something to give it a bit of flavor.

The best thing I have learned for fish or meat is to check the necessary temperature with a meat thermometer and do not cook past that point or you end up with an inferior outcome. Hope this helps.

We got a digital meat thermometer from Walmart that is great. There are two pieces, and you plug the one into the meat or fish and carry the other wherever you are. You set whatever temperature you want, and shows the temperature as it changes; then it beeps when the temperature you have set is reached. It is wonderful and costs around $18.

I love to marinate my salmon in teriyaki sauce first. Before grilling or baking, I sprinkle on chopped pistachio nuts. Yum!

Do you have a certain measurement of those or oven temperature and time for baking Linda?
How do you apply that Bonnie? Do you mix it with anything?

I cooked ours at 375 for 18 minutes and it registered 145 and was really flaky and moist but it just didn't have much taste other than the salmon itself.

The thermometer has set temps for different meats and fish. You just set for what you are baking and stick the probe in.

Our favorite baked salmon is to coat it with a mixture of honey and brown mustard before baking. Bake it at 350 until it flakes and serve with lemon.

I'll have to give a try. Do you just put equal amounts on Judith?

Oh, I also baked mine wrapped in foil and then broiled it for 2 minutes just to brown the top.
Linda, I have just a regular thermometer that can be used either in the oven while cooking or after to check the temp. I have seen the digital ones at Walmart but never knew what brand was good.

We put the probe in the meat - either on the grill outside or in the oven - and carry the other part of the digital thermometer with us. Very handy.
