We are in another long hot summer pattern down here but we finally got some much needed rain last Wednesday and last night with pop up thunder storms. Those storms are all hit or miss so many areas are dry as a bone and luckily we got some relief. Temos soar to mid to upper 90s each day and humidity varies. BUT.............. I looked up the link for countdown to Fall and right now we are 97 days, 20 hours, and 37 minutes until Fall!! All I can say is YAY! This swamp weather won't last forever!!

99 in NoCal so far; 101 expected. Is it too early to start wishing for fall?

I am further north than Judith, it almost made it to 60 here today. it was sunny, which was really nice.
Still is sunny.

The difference between the coast and the central valley is unbelievable. So close yet so far....

We had a great Spring that kept cool temperatures but the last week of it Summer pushed its way in with some fierce temperatures and I don't think it's going to give up the 90s easily. Our grass has turned brown quickly and try as I might to keep them watered some of my flowers are crispy and trying to hang on.

I'm not sure about the rest of the country but is everyone as tired of this heat as I am? We've had 11 or 12 days in a row over 100; this week has been 110-113. Wednesday we went to Walmart. DH dropped me off and went to park. When I came out I walked all over the parking lot looking for him in the scorching heat. There were a lot of white trucks and none were ours. Finally found it at the side of the store. Told him he'd better not forget his phone again. Put lotion on sunburned legs.
Global warming.....

Judith, over here in Florida, we are all sick and tired of the relentless heat and humidity every day with heat indexes up over 100!!! We finally got a nice thunderstorm at noon today with some rain. The heat is so bad that everything dries up in one day. If we don't go out and water the flowers daily, they die off. It makes me grumpy to think we have another couple of months, with hurricane threats and storms for the next 3 months! Sometimes, it is late October before we stop with the awful humidity and the temps down into the upper 80s instead of the 90s.

Winnie, we don't cool down until October either. I have to water the potted plants every day, too. We're supposed to save water and only water two days a week. Hah! The lawn is crunchy. We may get rain in late October but probably not. We have drought but I'm glad we don't have hurricanes. I guess we just have to hang in there and make the best of it. My son's fiance lives in Columbia; he says the weather where she lives is the same all the time: 50s to 80s. I'm not sure if that would be nice or boring.

We had heat index of 102 today but a storm has rolled in so hopefully cools down a bit. We are at 70 so it definitely cooled it down and watered my flowers. Yay!
