Yesterday was another mystery quilt clue day. Interesting how these clues are starting to go together.

Four dozen tamales made. Christmas dinner delivered to one adult grandson. Four quilts finished ready to be delivered to other grandkids. Ham is defrosting in kitty carrier. What isn't done by now ain't gonna happen. I'm looking forward to a nice long day of doing nothing tomorrow but cooking dinner for us two old folks. A nice long bath may happen.

Judith, did you get your relaxing day today? I hope so!
We had brunch with our daughter and her family and just got back from dinner with our son and his family. This is the first time that I can remember that it wasn't my responsibility to do the big meal....and you know, I really enjoyed the day off! hahahaha! It's always nice to eat someone else's cooking.

Hadlee gave me the most amazing gift for Christmas. She allowed me to open one green cup. It contained the cutest snowmen, Santas etc. Each day I can open another cup. Seems like there are 29 or 30 cups. She said it is like an advent calendar...&just a bit late. I love it and will enjoy making cards of all kinds.

No -- no company. Just getting everything done to deliver to grandkids. It somehow takes me longer to do everything than it used to, especially since I have one hand out of commission. Also battling an ant invasion; they just aren't responding to my homemade boric acid and sugar poison anymore and I refuse to use poison so it takes constant vigilance. And an elderly cat requiring 3 feedings with medicine a day. It will also be nice when my cleaning lady can return. I think I'll ask DH if we can go up to the hills for a couple days next week; the cat can go with us. At home there is always something demanding my attention but up there is pretty relaxing.

Judith, we have ant trouble here everytime it rains. But I use Terro because it is the only thing that really works. I only have a dachshund so putting it on the counter is not a problem.

Here a picture of the Afghan I made my daughter. She loved it.
It is done in single stitch so it would be warmer.

That is one pretty afghan -- I love the colors.
First the ants came in for water, then they came in because it rained. Can't win.

Thanks. I thought I'd never get it finished. I worked on it on all the trips to Ohio this year. Ten hour trips so that helped a lot.

Denise lots of hours as well as 'thread' or yarn went into that beauty.
Judith, yes I think you need a break from your home and all of the work. It is nice that you have a vacation home.

Marilyn -- our vacation home is a 19 foot trailer :-). It's parked up at DH's archery club where I have 100 acres of forest to wander. There is usually no one but us up there during the week and is so quiet and peaceful.

I once started a large needlepoint project that was mostly done in meetings, doctor's offices, and in the car. I consider places like that to be found time.
