Debbie and I are going to do the Bonnie Hunter Mystery quilt. You can go to Bonnie Hunter's blog (https://quiltville.blogspot.com/), click on the Grassy Creek Button at the top, and scroll down and you will see links to the Intro (describing the colors she is going to use and how much of each color you need) and Clue 1. The mystery makes a queen size quilt. The first clue was given on Friday and every Friday will be another clue that you can get on the blog. We'd love to have someone else join us. Judith, Mary Ellen, Sherry, Carole, Denise - anyone else who quilts? Debbie and I are going to try and keep each other honest. Will someone else join us?

Linda, this sounds like fun but sadly, I am not a quilter. I love murder mysteries and a quilt one is going to be quite intriguing!! Keep us posted on what happens.

I have considered making the mystery quilt. My quilt shop used to have a mystery quilt night every year and it was lots of fun. However, I did tell myself that I had to finish all the UFOs before I start another quilt. I've had one quilt on the machine being quilted for two weeks now and keep finding excuses not to work on it. I thinkI've got quilting burn out. I am saving all the instructions for Bonnie's quilt just in case I see the finished project and can't live without it.

Lovely quilt Maryellen.

Linda, Thank you for thinking about me regarding the murder mystery quilt. Given that I have so many UFO's at the moment, I do not feel comfortable starting another new project that I am sure will become part of the UFO pile. I have been so distracted as of late. With everything going on I find it difficult to focus. So attempting to finish some of the projects I did start a while back ... like a pair of knitted socks for my sister in law.

That beautiful Stitch marker was a gift from Debbie .... Thank you again Debbie for your thoughtfulness.

Linda Thank you for thinking of me. I will go to the website and check out the Mystery Quilt. Carole I love the yarn colors. I have taken two classes on sock making and did manage to make a pair of socks. With that said I just can't make them on my own. My biggest problem is I can't seem to fix my mistakes. Maryellen

Judith -

That's what I have done in the past - save all the clues and see what the finished quilt looks like. LOL! This year I DO want to try making the pieces as clues are given out, but not sure. Hopefully Debbie and I can keep each other on track. It's not like I don't already have over 100 UFOs, but I hope I can squeeze this in between other swaps and projects. LOL!

Thank you everyone for your kind comments.

Maryellen, if you enjoy knitting, I would keep doing it. With time, you will no longer need to fix your mistakes. lol In the beginning I didn't fix my mistakes, I just frogged! lol After a while, fixing my mistakes just came naturally.

Keep well everyone.

Maryellen, the quilts are beautiful!
Carole, someday I hope that I will be able to knit like you do! The socks are gorgeous! My one big fear is ripping out rows...will I ever find all of my stitches and will they be correct when I get them back on my needles??? It's so much easier for me to rip out crocheting than knitting. But...I am not giving up!!!
I will have TWO weeks of the mystery quilt to get finished. A lot of times I wait until the end to see if I like the finished project but this time I am going to just do it! I want to use up a LOT of scraps and am hoping to make several scrap quilts this coming year.

Carole - I love your socks. I love to wear hand knit socks. They are so much warmer and more comfortable than store-bought socks.

Debbie - If I don't make my half-square triangles tonight, which I won't, tomorrow Clue 2 comes out and I will also have to do 2 weeks worth. I don't think the HSTs will take that long. I am going to try the Magic 8 method and see how it goes for the first set. If it works, I will use it. A lot of the people doing the mystery quilt say it is the best way to do them.
