Connie do you buy Irish butter?? I just recently bought some. It is so yellow and yummy. When I went with my long time friend, to St. Thomas, many years ago we had Irish Butter. It was so good then and still is.

Denise right now I can't tell you. It comes in a good foil or silver wrapper. I get the gold. It is almost $3 for what a half pound??? So it is pricey. I decided it could be table butter for biscuits, baked potatoes, rolls, etc. I use butter for baking and cooking but other cheaper brands will continue to work for those things. Kerry Gold???

Will have to look for Irish butter.

Today in history - 1836 - Texas declared their independence from Mexico. From now until the battle of San Jacinto on April 6 the Alamo would be defended and fall but at San Jacinto General Sam Houston and his Texas army beat Santa Anna and his Mexican army. Their battle cry was 'remember the Alamo'.

Marilyn,
We have Kerrygold brand here and it is pricey. I don't know if that is what you have but they say it is very good.

Denise it is butter, yellow from grass fed cows. That is why young families who care about what they are feeding for kids are using it. My DIL is a Land o lakes die hard fan. But those cows spend the winter inside a big barn, 24/7! I don't think it tastes a lot different! Like I said, it is good to offer your family or guests on rolls, biscuits, baked potatoes, pancakes, etc. But butter is butter!

Yes! I do use Kerry Gold! Just for Special things and company!
It is going down to 18 tomorrow night! it was 70 last week! My flowers are so confused! Look at these Dutch Iris. They are blooming way too early and on the ground!!! I have grown these all my life and never seen them do this!! These are about 2 inches from the ground and they should be a foot from the ground! They bloom in April most of the time! Growing up, all our neighbors had these and daffodils by the 100's! I have seen them grow out of the gravel in the driveway but not on the ground!

Oh my blueberries! Those are one of my favorites and so good for us. I love when they come on here. I freeze as much as I can because I love them straight out of the freezer. A great anytime snack!

Happy March 2 everyone!! Connie, I sure hope all of your spring flowers and trees survive this next cold blast. Even we are going to have 30s for two nights this coming week!! I know our Azaleas are definitely be unhappy!!

Loved your photos of Ireland, Connie! We are planning a trip over there next September and I am excited to see the Emerald Green Island.

Speaking of butter, I think there is no substitute for taste on breads, biscuits, toast etc. There is just something so creamy and delicious about butter and I always use butter for my pie crust.

Opps, these comments were interrupted by CrowFriend and his buddy. They were calling me from the tree in the back yard. Time for peanuts!! CrowFriend and pal)possibly a mate as the bird is smaller??) haven't been coming as often so when I hear them, I stops and go out for chat and snack!! This is what old ladies do, I am told!!! LOL!!!

Winnie, I love your crow friends stories!
Today when I got to the barn, the horse who was tied to the front seemed so excited that I had come. At first I did not understand why...Then once I got to the alley that runs between the front four stalls and the back ones, I realized that Cody was not in his place! So back I went to visit with Cody. He is such a sweet loving horse and he is huge. The other day when Bay and Triston were organizing one of the shipping containers, I told her I had found the new a Big Red! She told me that she rides Cody when she helps her dad in the arena. I told her " No wonder he is so sweet, he loves you! " Big Red was her daddy's team roping horse when she was little, eventually as he aged he became her horse. She could be walking around and he would come to be petted, they loved each other so very much. Then in the spring time of her fifth grade year, Wade called me and asked me to get her from school and bring her to the vet clinic. Big Red was so ill, he was about to be put down. Grown men stood around and cried as she threw her tiny body on Big Red's neck and bawled her eyes out. I still tear up just thinking about it.

I have been buying Wal-Mart's mix of strawberries, raspberries and blue berries, frozen, to use in our smoothies each morning. The blueberries are so sweet and good. The red berries are not sweet at all.

Winnie, so happy CrowFriend and pal are still visiting you.

Marilyn another great story straight from your life and heart.

Found Irish butter Kerry Gold $2.99 for 8oz at Kroger here in Paris. This week instead of ordering from Brookshire's I will give Kroger a try. Same company home delivers and when I signed up I can order from the four stores in Paris they deliver too.
