Connie those skirts are too cute! Lily June is going be adorable in them.

Marilyn those aprons are lovely!

Thanks ladies. Linda that is one apron. It has a purple floral on the back. Flowers are only on the denim side. Yes it will all fray, which is what I love.

Marilyn and Connie, your sewing projects are so cute and full of Spring colors and happiness!! Your little girls are going to love them.

Sara, your location of little bags is a good one to keep them handy. One problem I often run into is forgetting to take my bags with me for stops other than the grocery store. Starting next year, you will have to pay extra for plastic bags everywhere so this is a good year to get into proper habits!!

When you girls are talking about the mini aprons that you have hanging at different times of the year, I'm guessing they were part of a swap on the main forum? Did you use a certain pattern? They sound really cute!
I got the last little outfit finished today and it fit like a charm! I wish I would have taken a picture of the other little dress that I had made. Maybe I'll get a picture of Merit in it one of these days.

Debbie, usually on the swaps they used to tell us to make an apron around 3x5 finished size. Some made full aprons most did half aprons. I will post a picture of mine for you to see.

I have them hanging above my sewing things so I'm not sure how well you can see them. I need to dig out my Spring ones.

Debbie, I loved sewing for my oldest grand daughter, but her mom put so many rules on my sewing...no lace, no ruffles, etc. That I have up. Then Had came along and there was no time to sew. I'll take that back...each year I made them a red Christmas dress out of the fabric that looks like crushed velvet. I had been sewing little girls clothes since high school. So I was pretty disappointed. But guess what, when Bay got to be a young teen she loved lace, tops, scarves, dresses, and as she got money that is what she bought.

Debbie - I hosted the mini apron swaps for over a year, then Grace (katmom) took them over for a few swaps. There are two printed patterns for mini aprons (Simplicity and Butterick, I think), but in truth, they are super complicated and involved and I didn't use them. We told swappers to make the half aprons about 4-5" wide at waist and 3-4" long and then add ties. I started skirts with piece of fabric 6" x 8" and hemmed on sides and bottom and gathered at top with waistband and ties added. Aprons came in various sizes, but all were cute with buttons, trims, lace, etc. added. Full aprons were same skirt sizes with added bibs and ties. We got a lot of fun aprons with various themes - spring/Easter, farmgirl, cowboy/western, Christmas, Patriotic, Fall, fancy/party, etc.

Unfortunately, the only sewing I've done for my grandsons has been several Halloween costumes and 3 quilts each, so far. Wish I had a granddaughter to sew for.

I love them too. Some of the ladies really did nice work. Some added the cutest little embellishments too. It was fun to take them out and look at them.

Right now all my mini aprons are in one large plastic box. I need to bag them up by holiday to make it easier to change out the display of them to match the seasons.

Today I am working on some quilt items for the Jubilee theme.

Marilyn - are your minis displayed on a Shilly Shally in the pictures?

As was usual in some of the swaps I've hosted, there are always some very creative items.
Here is a pattern for the full apron. People use these for dish detergent bottles and larger for wine bottles. It may even fit a Barbie doll. LOL!
Here is a picture of all the farmgirl mini aprons.

Here is a picture of all the Western/Cowgirl aprons.

Here is a Home Depot mini apron gift card holder that they had several years ago. I haven't been able to find it and don't know where I got this one.

below are 3 pages of patterns: 2 pages for a crocheted mini apron, and 1 for a fabric one. The fabric apron pattern is free on line - it is a Lori Holt pattern. If you need them via email, please let me know.

Linda that is not a shil!y shally, rather it is an old table c!oth, it is so old it even has some little holes in it. We used it a week ago on Sunday then it we t through the laundry and was used for an ironing mat, and hung on the back of a chair to dry out it was handy.

LOL! I love old table cloths, especially the florals with patterns in the corners and middle. I have quite a few of them, and have made aprons from severall others that had holes ini them. They alll have character.
