Sara,
I have a question about the pattern I bought. I have a couple of different extra pieces of wool. They don't seem to look like anything it tells me to use to cut out my pieces. Wondered if yours was the same or if you know if they send them for a reason?

Denise I have the same extra pieces of wool. Thought they were to give a choice on which to use. Most kits don't do that. Having the extra wool is a bonus. I finished embroidering mine today and all wool pieces are pinned to background. When I finish it I will stitch it to a pillow I found at the Salvation Army that matches the background.

Today I hope to cut out the pattern for chair swag and pick out the wool I will be using. Picking out the wool is one of my favorite things to do. Love all the sorting through my little stash and matching up colors.

I knew when I ordered the pattern it was wider than my chairs and I would have to make adjustments. When I got the pattern I was so happy to see the designer took narrower chairs into consideration and it is marked on the pattern.

Sounds like a fun time. Designing is always fun, and by choosing the colors you are designing.

About three years ago a friend of mine asked me to make some curtains for her dining room and for an upstairs bedroom. When I met her to deliver them, I was amused at her reaction to the bedroom curtains. Basically she could not believe she had chosen that 'not so pretty fabric!' I had wondered, as I measured, cut and sewed, why on earth she chose that fabric...but decided she must have been going for a designer look. It was a very bold stripe of random widths and colors on a strange yellow background.
I had made most of the sophisticated country curtains for her other home...that is why, I believe, we both reacted the way we did to the stripes.

And that is why I think when we choose certain colors and patterns, that make our hearts sing, we are happy as we play and touch the fabrics. Have fun!

I save seed packets, i'll bet you never thought I would save/hoard them too.(( Hey, there is hope for me...I no longer save paper towel and tissue rolls...as I did for forty years for art projects with kids.))
Anyway I glue the seed packets on things (decopodge)!! Yesterday I made some comp books look pretty by gluing seed packets on the covers. First I carefully trim around them...after the seeds are planted, seperate the front and back, then I begin to play, to see what may look best or ok.
I have decorated little trash cans, etc.too.

Denise I wasn't sure who had signed up for their e-mails or not.

I ordered wool in the colors I use - oranges; golds; and yellows - and one green for leaves & trees. Ordered mostly solids but some plaids; checks; and stripes. All I have to do now is wait until I can feel the wool and think about future projects.

Interesting project, Marilyn.
I save the tissue and paper t owel rolls for one of the local libraries. They take the tubes, pill bottles, spools, etc. for craft projects with the kids in their sumemr programs.

Denise I ordered enough wool to have on hand for many months of projects. I have several patterns that I can use bits & pieces of to create my own projects. That's what I really enjoy doing. I think of it as painting with wool.

I finished the bee skep pillow several days ago. Went through my button box and found 4 purple buttons that matched the flowers so I put them at each corner. I think Bobbie wants the pillow. I knew when I made it I would give it away. I can't keep everything I want to make.

I'm waiting on the wool to work on chair swags. The wool I have on hand isn't really the colors I want for the sunflowers. I did cut out the swag and hung it on a chair to see how I it looks. I like it and the swags will dress up my kitchen in a country way for the seasons.

Lovely to read what you all have been up to on the creative spectrum. I haven't done much myself, so it's nice to see others are creating. Thank you for sharing.

Truth be told, I am not getting ANYTHING done! We just got back from 3 days at Cooper Lake State Park in our motorhome with my twin grandsons. On Sunday we leave for 5 days/4 nights in New Orleans - hopefully we will have good weather. Then a week later, June 1-8 we will be in Fairfield Bay, AR at a timeshare and then June 8-12 we will be in Grand Lake, OK at another timeshare. Then the 21-22 of June, I think, we will be in the momtorhome at Fandangle in Ft. Griffin in Albany, TX - we've read that the entire town takes part in a production celebrating Texas history. Should be fun.

Marilyn I don't understand your question. I'm making chair swags and not seats.

Received my wool order yesterday so today I will be feeling the wool. Happy face me.
