I believe it is the same one Sara sent to you Marilyn. The Home Sweet Home with the bee skep. I just received an email saying it has shipped.

I think you should do that. We can have Sara's wool group.

Marilyn I like having FarmGirls working on wool projects with me but I would like to include those that applique with other fabrics - calico, cotton, etc. Thanks for wanting to call the group after me but I'm for keeping things simple so let's just keep on talking about what we do with all the other sewing & craft projects.

One of the patterns I saw had a piece of linen running down the middle of a table runner. Got me thinking about the vintage scarves I have stored away. One of them may work.

I have done tons of machine applique. You know how it is when you work with women and they realize you can sew, applique, paint, etc. You do a lot. But I do so little of it now, just for swaps, sometimes.

Have you heard people, who recently retired say, 'I don't know how I had time to work full time. There is so much to do at home.' That's me.

Darlene enjoy creating with paint.

Marilyn I remind myself quite often how when I was working I wanted to be at home and now that I am to enjoy every day. It's truly a blessing to be able to piddle the day away.

I found several round scarves that will work with candle mats. The scarf in the middle and wool around it. Another project just added to my todo list.

I do a lot of needle turn applique in my quilting. I think it's relaxing but I know a lot of people don't agree. What I love about wool applique is that you DON'T have to turn the edges under! It goes much faster. And I just love the shades of wool that are available and the nice texture that it adds.

Debbie that's one of the things I like about wool applique too - no turning of edges.

I'm glad to hear you don't have to turn the wool under.
Did anyone read the article MaryJane did on restoring quilts? So glad to have found out how to do it.

Been looking at wool applique patterns in-between chores. Found one I added to my wish list. It's a swag that's shown on a high back chair. When both sides are down my kitchen gate leg table seats two and I have high back chairs. I want to make swags for the 4 seasons. I can use the swag pattern and other patterns I have for the seasons or make my own patterns. How hard would it be to make candy canes. The pattern is from Penny Lane Primitives.

Some of the designs are so busy I get dizzy looking at them. Can only image what it would be like to work on them. I like the simple designs.

I love the great wool appliqué patterns at Buttermilk basin. Great variety and she does a great retreat! Check out her patterns. She is on Facebook too.

I put the sunflower swag pattern on my wish list then later in the day I put it in my cart. Ordered it along with my favorite wool California Gold on Camel to use as the base for all the four seasons. It works perfectly in my kitchen so I use it for all wool projects that end up in my kitchen.

I've been thinking about what to use for each season. Unless I change my mind this is what chose.

First one I'll do will be the pattern - sunflowers for summer
Fall - pumpkins with crows
Winter - snowman with Christmas trees
Spring - bee skep with bees & flowers

Linda I have faith you with the help of Ed will get it all done. When I get the swags on the kitchen chairs I'll let you know and I will get the scones in the oven for a visit. lol

Hope to do the sunflower swags as soon as I get them and use them for both spring and summer this year. I'm very excited about this project - can't you tell.

I'm excited to see them, Sara! Right now I'm stuck in the pickup on a short road trip. I'm reading about what all of you are working on and I just wish I could be home doing the same.
