I ordered a new wool applique pattern today - a bunny rabbit - will be a pillow. When I went back to check on something I found it was temporary out of stock so I must have bought the last one. I have enough wool on hand to make it. Some of the colors may be different.

Mind is underway. What fun. But my thumbs don't always cooperate, so it will take a bit longer than I first thought.

Marilyn my projects always take longer because I have a problem with repetition. I can only cut out one piece of a pattern at a time or sew for less than five minutes before my mind no longer can tell my hands what to do and I have to rest a couple of hours before I can do it again. MS plays havoc with my eye hand coordination. Sooner or later I do get things done. The Lord has given me an extra helping of his grace to accept my limitations and have peace with it.

Denise it's from Winterberry Cabin https://www.winterberrycabin.com/

Click on new items - go to page 13 and it's on the 2nd row. I've had the pattern on my wish list for quite awhile and decided to order it today.

Yes Denise. Thanks for posting a picture. I can see him done up in calico prints or cotton solids for those who don't work in wool. I'm anxious to get the pattern and pick out the colors from my small wool stash.

Sara when you buy wool how big are the pieces you get? And do you felt it or get it already done?. I know you bought some clothing and did it yourself but I mean when you just purchase them from the store.

Ohhh, this bunny is going to make a darling project!! Sara, I like your idea of calico prints as a good second choice of fabrics too. Let us know when you decide on your wools so we can imagine how cute your pillow is going to be.

This week, I am working on finishing up several books and cleaning up. Sometimes, I feel like I need to finish up and clean up before I dig into new projects. Somehow it clears up my mind and the "clean slate” feeling makes me better able to dream and plan new projects. Anyone else like this? I compare it to having a clean kitchen between meals. I like past work to be finished and cleaned up before I start even the smallest of new projects, be it in the kitchen or Log Cabin space. Maybe I suffer from a touch of OCD?? LOL!!!

Denise when I buy it from Winterberry Cabin (I have looked at other wool sites but I tend to stay with one) I buy hand dyed felted wool. The largest piece I ordered was 16' X 24'. Also have bought 8' X 12' and bundles of 6 5 1/2' X 6 1/2'.

Wool is expensive so now that I have built up a small stash I try to make projects with what I have on hand. When I first started working with wool I bought pieces in the colors I like when budget allowed. Since wool applique seems to call for more small pieces than large the bundles are a good way to have six shades of a color or different patterns. I save every wee scrap and they do come in handy.

When they have them I buy bundles on Amazon. I have gotten same names that Winterberry Cabin sells and with Prime I don't have to pay shipping. Maybe one or two bundles on Prime at a time so not much of a selection.

Winnie I'm like you I like to finish one project before starting another. One reason is I lay out fabric and cut out wool project patterns on kitchen table. It may take me up to a week to cut out depending on how many pieces. By then I want to see the top of my table.

I am breaking my rule of only one project at a time. I'm working on cotton patchwork banner for Jubilee and wool applique bee skep pillow. Also I am canning dried beans today. That's a lot for me to have in the works.

Sara I really like some of the projects I saw on that site. A good idea to maybe use calico on that or maybe any pattern. Especially for me since I haven't done it yet.

Denise the bee skep pillow has a cloth background with wool applique so different fabrics are used together. I used embroidery vegetable patterns when I did the wool cream trimmed in green container with wool veggies. I find a lot of patterns are easy to use for varied projects. Except for the first wool applique I did I tend to add my own spin on the project. I have made the same house with sheep pattern three times and they are all different. I added a chimney on one and when I did another with a chimney I added smoke.

One of the patterns I was looking at yesterday was a table runner which had a piece of white linen with embroidery running down the center. It was so pretty. Now I want to do a wool project with white linen. What was that little saying we had as kids "monkey see - monkey do".

The pieces are simple and not that many of them. Have pattern pinned to wool so ready to cut out. I hope to start appliqueing this week. I bought the kit when it was on sale so I doubt they will have it again. If you would like I will copy the pattern and sent it to you. The fabric background material was printed with bees and the words Home Sweet Home to be embroidered. I think you could make fabric bees and choose whether to embroider the words.

I mostly buy patterns but if a kit is on sale at a good price I will buy kits. There is always leftover wool with kits so it adds to my stash so I figure that into cost of kit.

Yes that's the one. It's the same kit/pattern I sent to Marilyn when she was our MJF FGOTM. So there will be the three of us working on it at our own pace.
