Winnie - You have a busy trip ahead of you. Sounds like your niece found a great place for your sister. So nice of you to help. Is your niece driving your sister from FC to Georgia?

The title of this thread is "Thankful November - 2018" and it got me thinking this morning over morning tea. I'm thankful for being able to enjoy my favorite morning tea - English Breakfast Tea. It's a small thing but it adds to my quality of life to be able to buy the tea I want rather than the cheapest on the shelve. Sometimes it's the little things we take for granted that makes our days more enjoyable and brings us simple pleasures.

I'm thankful for friends, who when I share the new(to me)things I am trying, they come alongside and encourage me to do it and they finds things or ways to help me. They may seem like little to them but it is a huge blessing to me.

Thankful for a warm home and the means to keep it that way. Sitting here in front of the fire with a cup of tea. I have to go out later but will wait till the sleet stops coming down. Just need to pick up some things at the Amish market. Going to do some baking today as well. Want to get started on my Christmas baking.

Stay warm, Denise. I hate sleet. And Ice. Last year we had such an unusually warm winter - only dustings of snow, if any. I kinda miss getting snow once in a while - just not LOTS of it. LOL!

I love that November is a month to remember loved ones and enjoy the loved ones in our lives. This MJF Community has been a huge blessing for me over the years. It has given me the chance to meet wonderful new friends, learn new skills, share life's ups and downs, and support each other in many ways. I am also reminded that our democracy and peace have given my life many opportunities and choices that many around the World do not have at this time. Currently, I am praying for all those in the California Fires who have lost so much! How terrifying it has been for everyone involved out there.

Well we ended up getting snow all morning but it has changed to rain and will be gone soon.
It's been a nice day to stay in and get some things done. I have supper in the crock pot and smells good. I will get out tomorrow and get my Amish market shopping done.
Winnie, you are so right about the community here. I am grateful to have met so many women, now friends, whom I would never had met did I not find Mary Jane's.

I am thankful for my God, my family and friends. Yesterday I was surprised with a very quick call from a friend, early morning. Then a long talk with my cousin in San Diego late yesterday. We had our first, second and third hard freezes this week. I sat at the sewing machine yesterday singing
' there is sunshine, beautiful sunshine...there is sunshine in my heart of soul, today.'
Ladies I am away from the house just to catch up a bit. We have no internet. My face book has been hi-jacked, and I am about to end it. That really makes me sad. Then I must go get a new cell #. Then I will write my new # on cards and mail them out...it may take a week or more.
Just know that I love each of you and wish you a Happy Thanksgiving and happy family times...just in case they do not get the internet problem resolved before then.

It has been a great weekend. Nothing special or new just doing some things. Went to my weekly lunch with a few gals and spent some time with my daughter and then with her and her family later on Saturday. Friday Afternoon I was able to get some shopping done. Like I said, nothing unusual just have been enjoying the time and spending time with JT. Grateful for the slow days.

I have been thinking a lot about this holiday of Thanksgiving and why we even have it.
I know many know the real reason that the pilgrims were giving thanks to God was that they made it through the first winter. There were nearly 40% of the group that made it to the new land that didn't make through their first winter. It was something like 101 people that made it off the boat and 69 or so that got sick and died through the harsh New England winter. I know we have so much to be grateful for and for myself I know I can get caught up in the ease of the life we have here now. I need to be reminded and Thanksgiving is a good reminder. I hope to carry it throughout the year and always.

Denise so good to remember where it all started.

My sister Betty's foster son called and I will go with him to her house in the morning. It will be good to visit with her and her husband. Since I lost my son last year I can't bear the thought of celebrating holidays so I will not be with family on Thursday so glad of the chance to visit tomorrow. Seasons come and go and I have found a way to endure the unhappy ones. I'll spend the day talking with the Lord and he always sees me through the hard and dark times.

Just got caught up on here with everyone's posts. It's been a busy week here with visiting daughter, son in law and baby granddaughter. Our son, DIL and 3 grandboys will be coming tomorrow night. I got all of my Thanksgiving groceries today. I should really make a list of what I need to do before Thursday so I don't forget something!
I hope that all of you have a happy and blessed Thanksgiving! I am thankful for all of you!!! God bless you all!
