Thanks Darlene! The hardest part is getting up at 6 every morning to get the older two off to school. They tend to fool around getting ready some morning so then things are a rush and you know kids don't rush. Lol. So far so good thank goodness.

You are so right Marilyn. Some mornings I feel wiped out before I start. This morning isn't too bad but I went to bed at 9!
Of course I didn't go to sleep then but the the 2 yr old was up at 4 till 430 talking away. She gets up about an hour after her sisters leave. We have ballet practice tonight and usually one takes her and the others stay home with dad but I'll be taking all 3.

Last day of school for the girls this week. JT is coming in tonight and we will take the 3 girls out for the morning and lunch to give mom and dad more time to rest. It's nor what I'm used to but I have enjoyed all my time with them. Getting up so early every morning,(6:00) is actually a good habit for me but I have to go to sleep by 9:30 to do it. Their other grandma will be coming this weekend sometime to help out for a week.

Denise I know you enjoyed your visit but it will be soooo good to sleep in your own bed.

Been a busy week of canning for me so today I am taking a day off to pamper myself - hair - manicure - pedicure - and work on wool applique and my story.

Whether it's a work or pampering day for y'all make it a good one.

Sara, pamper you today for sure! For most of my life I have pushed myself. Now I have a nap, when needed!

Thanks for the kind words ladies. We took the girls out today to give mom and dad a break. They were off school for some reason. So we headed to the pumpkin barn then the park. Went to lunch and the the Magic Castle which is one of their favorite places. After that we headed for ice cream and back home. When we returned mom, dad and baby weren't here so we are playing board games. They were very good and to be honest I was a little surprised. Lol. We will be here tomorrow and then head home Sunday. I will miss them but have a to do list at home I need to get to work on. Getting the color on the bathroom walls among the first of them. As much as I love to spend time here, (I've really come to enjoy Ohio and it's beauty), I do want to get back and get things done to prepare more for winter. We still need to get our wood supply stacked and winterize the hen house a bit. It really needs new doors.

Sara, I meant to say to enjoy that pedi! Would love to go but I hate doing things like that alone. My dd always has her hands full. As much as she could use a break she doesn't get the chance to go out with me very often.

Hi everyone, this is the first week we haven't had company. Hunting season. At least we have deer in our freezer. Now we are doggy sittin. A cutie by the name of Bandit. Now witrh our two fur babies. Poncho and Duke ,they are having a blast. The cooler weather. Hubby and I cleaned our big chest freezer and organized it. So nice and neat . Then my back hurt the rest of the weekend. Ha. I luv the cool days we were having. Now the last two days have warm weather. But later this week cooler . I love it. The wind blowing thru the pines. Hot cocoa. Oatmeal cookies.
I cannot believe this is almost November. The 10th is our Anniv. 34 years. It sure seems it has gone by awful fast.

Trying to get caught up on everyone here. But wanted to get on and see what my sissies are doing on here. Ha....
So now am going back to read...

Denise, I hope that you are rested and recovered by now! It's fun to spend time with the grandbabies but it's always nice to be home in your own space, too. I know when we've had the 3 boys we usually end up going to bed when they do, around 8:00 or 8:30...it can wear you out!! Especially when they are up before 6 am. Congratulations on your new baby!

Thanks Debbie!

Back home and getting my nest cleaned and ready for winter time. I am fighting a sinus infection last night and today so I'm drinking lots of hot tea and taking elderberry syrup to help with the sore throat and boost up my immune system.

We went to all the second hand books stores while visiting and brought home loads of books so I will have a lot of reading material this winter! Hit a thrift store and can you believe it, I found a beautiful magazine holder, early american style for 9 cents. That is not a typo. And when I got to the counter I asked if that was correct and the girl said "yes, and today is 25% off Monday. So I paid about 7 cents for it. It is in really nice condition. Wish we had some thrift stores like that around here!

I am off to put the new books into our library. I told JT we may need another bookshelf in there.

Denise nice stash of books for the dark days of winter.

On this last day of October Eve the leaves are beginning to fall. Keeps me busy sweeping the back deck. Handy to cover containers of herbs. Have to keep deck swept to keep Annie from tracking leaves into the kitchen. I keep the front porch steps swept for the postman.

Hi everyone, just checking in to say hello and catch up with the latest news. We had an old friend of Warren here for 4 days and it has been nice to connect again after so many years. Thursday morning I am flying to Tulsa, OK to visit my friend and attend her Open House. She is an artist and is going in with some other artist friends at this big antique shop for a Saturday of friends and customers. She is already getting pretty fall colors out her way so I am excited about enjoying some cooler weather and real fall landscape. We are up to low 80s today and tomorrow is supposed to be 85. It is so weird down here but Halloween is always warm or humid and rainy. Always! This past weekend and Monday, it was cooler and drier but looks like we are going to keep the Halloween tradition of summer like weather!

Denise, hope you chase that pending cold away!! Enjoy those new books. I have been enjoying a batch of new ones myself that I got when we visited Asheville a few weeks ago.

Good to hear from you , Marlee! Glad you are enjoying some beautiful weather too.

Hehehe, Sara, I remember how my sweet kitty, who had long hair, would constantly drag in leaves and such on the underside of his big puffy tail!! I would give anything today to have that problem again. I still miss him so much!

Winnie I know how it feels to be reminded of a lost pet. Memories can be sweet but still sting. With the cooler weather Annie is spending more time outside which is a good thing because she sleeps through the night but I do miss her when she's not inside.

I haven't felt well the last several days so I'm behind on everything but one good thing is TCM is running old horror flicks for Halloween and I do like old horror flicks. Not a fan of the new ones with all the blood and gore.
