Hi ladies,
I was just hoping we could do a bit of a roll call. I know I just sent out the information sheets and I'm hoping receiving will prompt more of our members to post. I know we have one of the active henhouses but think it is a good idea if we can all be involved. I do understand that a few of our gals have things that happen and cannot be here often but it would be good to see as many as want to be participants in the hen house to post at least once a month, unless other arrangements have been made. For example those who have posted they need a break, etc. I just want us to all make this a great place for our hen house sisters and the only way to do that is for everyone to participate.

Hi Denise, I am here just been busy with mom and all of her surgery's. But I think we may be on the good road now so I think I can be here a little more than I have been and I do want to say thanks everyone for letting me take care of mom and still being so good to me.

I’m here, Denise. Right now I’m in Albuquerque and can only get Internet at McDonalds or other free WiFi restaurants. I try to be active.

Denise, I agree with your request for some sort of regular participation, unless stated otherwise. We all know and understand that our circumstances in life change and internet time can be hard to get to. The HenHouse does work better when people are more active because it allows us to know and support each person better, which I think is one of the many blessings a smaller group of Farmgirls offers. It is also a challenge to be both on the main Forum and a HenHouse because of the internet time, which might not be possible for some folks.

Glad to see everyone checking in. I understand about computer and internet time. Carole had come up with a very good set of guidelines for the hen house and I'd like to see us continue with those.

My hope is to return to our Hen House sometime in the winter. This last year since I lost my son has taken a toll on me and spiked MS fatigue. For the time being I am opting to put my gardens to bed, do wool applique, work on the Rose Rustlers Murders, and post a little on MJF. I will be back to posting here when I can commit more time and energy to do so. Until then I will continue to read your posts and keep you all in my thoughts.

Thanks Denise for doing the info sheets. I received my today and they are beautifully done. I would like to thank Sherry for her work on the info sheets.

Sara,
We understand about taking breaks and I appreciate when anyone posts to let us know they will be doing that. Everyone needs a break sometimes.

Hello, all my farmgirl sisters! Thank you so much for hanging on and pushing me through what has been a very dark time. I dearly want to become active again and hope that you will welcome me with the open arms I've already been receiving.

First, I hope if anyone is from the hurricane area that they are safe!
Second, I probably won't go into details of the past few months.
Third, you have been wonderful by calling and writing. I never felt alone, even when I felt alone (if that makes any kind of sense at all.)

It had been getting to the point where I've been wanting to post but I've been embarrassed by how long I've been away. Please forgive me, a true friend does not hide under a rock! I will be a better friend, a stronger woman, and a better farmgirl sister. I'm hoping that getting involved with all of you and working on some merit badges will bolster me up even more!

Denise, I did receive the information sheets, thank you!

Talk to all of you soon,
Katie

Katie, I am so relieved to hear that you are feeling better! I had looked and looked for any sign of you. Then I asked Denise! Lo and behold...being the good farm sister she is, our hen house leader, she quickly responded with good news! So don't feel bad, life has lots of twists and turns. Just take it easy. God has a purpose for you! Now...my oncologist looked at me at my 8 year visit with him. Then he said, "Very few people survive the cancer you had. He left you here for a purpose. Are you doing what He wants you to do?? Are you pleasing him???" At that time I was still teaching, age 72. I told him I was trying to do God's will. Year 9 I was finally just beginning to be at home, every day.I believe this is my season to take care of my family...better than I ever did before. Now I go to town on Saturday...not every day.I pack lunches, nice meals for my husband an son, I water horses, and chickens and clean the barn for my son. I take naps, I hope God likes what I am doing! I think He does because I talk to him throughout each day. So Katy, take a nap. Rest. Hang out! Chill! I'm just glad you are back!
