Yes, indeed, let's give our Connie a big Farmgirl shout out as this month's FGOTM!!! Connie is an inspiration to many of us here in the HenHouse and the main Forum!

Connie, I hope you are having a great month and enjoying yourself. Now, if it would just cool down so this heat would dial back, it would start to feel more like fall which would be totally awesome!!

Did I miss something? I cannot find the "Subscribe" button on the threads anymore. Where did they move it to or why did they remove it?

Happy Monday Morning to everyone! I hope you had a great weekend and some even had some real fall weather, I hear!! In case you are not over on the main Forum, I just wanted to remind you all that this coming Sunday, SEptember 30, is our Annual Farmgirl Apple Pie Sunday to mark the end of our month of celebration. In the past, those who are not apple pie fans have chosen a number of apple themed desserts to enjoy! There are no rules so if you choose to participate, make whatever you love best. I hope you will share your thoughts here too! We all love a good dessert recipe and what can be better than something with Apples and cinnamon baking in the oven!!

I can't decide whether to make a traditional apple pie, which is my favorite , or an Apple Crisp, which I love too. Decisions, decisions!!

I'm thinking I will be making Apple Crisp. I need something easy.

I am in the middle of repainting my bathroom. Hoping to get done by this weekend. It is a small full bath and there are some very tight spaces. It's me or the paint not sure which will win out. I am rethinking my sink choices. I love my sink, it is an old pedestal but apart from taking it out I am definitely having trouble covering everything underneath. It is weird shaped so I may trade it in for a regular vanity.

Right now I am thinking of trying the Apple pie buttermilk biscuit recipe from MaryJane's Cast Iron Cookbook. This morning I was looking through it and thought how tasty and fun her recipe would be. Essentially it is apple pie on top of buttermilk biscuits . Her photo looks so scrumptious!!!!

Denise, I don't envy you with the painting of your bathroom. Doing my log cabin room reminded me what a pain all that change can be like. It is never as easy as you imagined in the beginning !! Good luck! Apple Crisp sounds perfect for easy and delicious. you can't go wrong with that choice ever in my opinion!!

Connie, I bet that apple book is AWESOME!!!

I am going to make Apple Skillet Pie - a recipe in the Apple Baking magazine I sent Connie for FGOTM (and I got onoe for me, too). I may make Apple Crisp, too, from my mother's recipe.

I received a box of goodies today from the farm. I decided to give some of the baking mixes a try. Even found a little recipe booklet tucked inside. Can't wait to try a few of the recipes. Today was errand day and it seems I was out most of the day. I had the forethought to pop something in the crockpot and I'm glad I did. I returned home late and with a few quick additions supper was ready in no time. Had a birthday party to attend for my eldest grandchild who has now entered in to the teen years. It was fun but I am definitely ready for rest tonight.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!
