| This particular photo was from September 2014 when I visited John Bunker's Apple farm in Palermo Maine in October of 2014. He wrote a book about his work saving heirloom apples in his region of central Maine and I learned about his work from a Martha Stewart magazine. I wrote John, told him that I had read his book, and asked him if I could visit his farm and meet him. He agreed so we went up and I got to have a few hours visir and tour of his farm and how he grafts and saves heirloom apples. This outfit that I have on is actually what he uses when apple harvest happens and that ladder is one he made by hand many years ago. Farmgirls....I was in heaven all dressed up and feeling like a real Apple Farmgirl ready for work!! LOL!!! |
