Hello everyone,

Catching up here. You've all been busy as always. Here, things are hopping. My baby turned 21 yesterday! Wow, where has the time gone?

I've been subbing at our local high school and let me tell you ... boy have things changed. I do not recall having such trouble making kids in my classes when I was a student. What a challenge. I can now understand why teachers are retiring at an early age. One more work day tomorrow and I will be putting myself on time out taking a break for a while, most probably until the end of the year.

I haven't been quilting, I've just been recuperating, coming home drained. There are lots of wonderful kids, those are such a delight, but those few that are just horrid ... Enough complaining!

I need a hug!

Hi Shannon! It is so good to hear from you and hear about all of your Homestead adventures. You have really grown your farm and I am so glad that everyone is doing well and having fun with all the many animals and babies. It must be wonderful to finally get great weather to do all of the many plans you have for everything. Wyoming seems to be the perfect place you had always dreamed about!!

Carole, I bet teaching school has been an eye opener! There is much that needs doing in our school systems these days, especially for those children who need more attention and guardrails. You are doing your community a great favor by helping out. Yes, indeed, you came to the right place for some extra Farmgirl hugs!! Sending you some extras from Florida. Take care and I hope your upcoming Summer plans include some fun!!

I was browsing on a quilting site and came across this pattern ....

It's so darn cute. I keep repeating to myself, I do not need another project!

I've been away for a day or two because of MS fog. I have read all the post and rejoiced with those with joy to report, cried with the ones with tears, and will miss those who have to take breaks. Summer is rough on me and July will be something to get through because that's when Dustin passed away so this summer I will be on when I can and when I am not know that the Lord is with me and all is well.

Thanks all for your sweet and caring words.

Postman just delivered a box of food from Amazon Prime Panty where I can order small quantities and free shipping with $40 or more order. So far what I don't spend at the grocery store is covering my Amazon purchases. As I spend more time food/household shopping on Amazon I hope to save more money. With this order I not only saved with free shipping I saved $6 for buying five selected items. Today my order included everything from three 64oz jugs of white vinegar to 1 32oz carton of almond milk.

Sara, Prayers coming your way! Summer is hard on us!! Take it S-l-o-w! I have no choice. I am trying to sew and sweat just running down my back and the AC is on 75! We have heat indexes already! 105. Hotter other places, when you have MS it don't take much to bring on the fog!

Congrats Denise!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Carole, that Quilt is awesome!! hard to believe your Pumpkin is 21!!

Thanks Connie, I know you understand. We're having a raging thunderstorm and since for the last several days the forecast for today was only 10% chance of rain I didn't connect the MS fog to the coming storm But as soon as it hit the remains of the fog lifted.

Good morning,

Denise - congrads!

Sara & Connie - sending you some hugs.

Not much going on. I'm taking the day off today to just center myself. I'm presently at my favourite place (local coffee shop) catching up! I'm looking forward to tomorrow (Saturday) for my Pasta 101 class.

Wishing you all a wonderful day and a great weekend!

Carole - Where are you taking your pasta class? Will it be online again or have you found somewhere else?

Today we get our next batch of broiler chicks. Tomorrow we will finish butchering the ones we already have. I love the quick pace of this time of year, but sometimes it seems almost too full, lol. Another one of our goats are due to freshen today as well... another first time mom. Hopefully everything will go smoothly :)

Shannon~ You are busy! So love baby goats. I love to get a dwarf goat again. I had one when I was young his name was Max. He was a lot of fun!

Never liked the butchering part.

Thank you for the sweet comments on the little one coming!

Ed has 3 dwarf pygmy goats - they currently reside at my son's place down the road from me. They are always home and we have been traveling a lot. Ed is thinking of getting rid of his lo-line cows (8 small black angus and 3 small longhorns and 1 small zebu) and getting more goats. Problem is - no matter which of our properties he would put them on, we need to redo our fencing. And we'd need to stay home sometimes or have a live-on-the-property caretaker. Hmmmmmm! So much to think about.

Sara and Connie, know that I am keeping you in my prayers as the summer heat wears you out ! It is always good to hear from you when you are able to participate!! Special prayers to you Sara, for this hard upcoming regarding the loss of your dear son.

Shannon, you have one busy farm going these days!! It must be rewarding to be able to raise and sustain your family on your land. YOur children are getting a wonderful Ag education too!!

Linda, you are so right about owning many animals. They require care and someone to be present for their well being. All the traveling that you and Ed like to do, it is a challenge.

Enjoy your weekend pasta class Carole! sounds like a delicious way to learn!! LOL!!

Denise - the butchering part doesn't really bother me! Sadly though it has been a buckling year, so if they don't sell, we are looking at possibly eating them :( THAT will be HARD!

Linda - yes having animals means you are "stuck" home most of the time. I'm looking forward to the day when my kids are old enough to take care of the homestead while Brad and I do a little traveling, but until then, we are loving the homestead life!

Winnie - Thank you for your sweet words! Not bringing any income in is hard on me... I feel like a freeloader, which I know is ridiculous as I do so much here, but there it is anyways. Being able to help raise our food has helped give me an extra sense of accomplishment that I needed!

So an update here on our little homestead... our goat just had her baby - a single buckling. She did great as she is a first time freshener. Baby is already nursing <3
