How wonderful that sounds. Looking forward to it.
Have a good day tomorrow.

The other morning I was in my rocker looking out front window at the hummingbird feeder on that end of front porch. Don't see hummers everyday but I do see them now and then. This time it wasn't a hummer at the feeder but a young black & white woodpecker enjoying the nectar. He would drink a bit - fly off - come back t0 drink some more. Haven't seen him since.

Wonder what drew him to the hummer's feeder? We have a large red headed woodpecker that visits the birdfeeders almost everyday.

My hummingbird feeder is not getting any action, either. Last few years had LOTS of visitors. We are expecting temps in the 100s this next week or two. I don't know if that will deter them even more?

Ow Linda, that is tooo hot! Maybe the little hummingbirds are melting.
Take care out there.

I have a little hummer that comes to my yard now and then. Right now the Hemlock tree is blooming and he is going after that. So cute!

Everyone I talk are seeing less hummingbirds this year. One woman who last year counted thirty at one time only has seen a couple this year.

I haven't seen any of them so far this year but we see them a bit more towar d summer and it is still in the 60's and low 70's. Not sure if that has anything to do with it.

On this last day of May the weather is heating up. At a little before 7a.m. it's 73 with 86% humidity - makes for a rather oppressive day.

But on the bright side the sun is shinning and the Lord has given us another day to make our own. It's grocery shopping day for me and I have high hopes of finding something in the markdown bins to can, dry, or ferment. If I do that means I will have to be in my Yellow Rose Cottage before daylight so I can work while it's cool. I dry and can in the cottage - ferment on kitchen counter.

How are you planning to use up your last day of May?

I have an appointment later this morning and then I will head to the market and pick up a few things. Then home to finish up some cleaning jobs. It is cool and overcast today just like the last few weeks. But not raining.

The past two days, we have had over 3 inches of rain at my house! Some areas around me have had many more inches fall. Yesterday, I went over to St. Augustine to visit with an old friend for the day. It pretty much rained the entire time, but when I was coming home, it literally rained buckets and buckets most of the way. On the evening weather report, they said the state had been effected by a tropical wave coming straight up the state from the Caribbean dumping huge amounts of rain along the way. More is expected today, but then tomorrow is supposed to be dry and 90 degrees. We really need to evaporate some of this moisture and dry out a few things. The past three weeks have been unbelievable in just constant rain storms every day. Hopefully, June will give us a bit of a break!
