Here we are in another new month.

My lilacs are just starting bloom. They are my favorite flower and I love that they bloom in this month. This is JT's and my anniversary month too.

Of course this is our Jubilee month on MaryJane'f forum. Hope each and every one of you enjoy this new month.

Happy anniversary Denise and enjoy your lilacs.

Good morning Darlene.

This morning has had a bit of excitement at my house. I put Annie on her leash to go with me to put out the trash and sunflower seeds for the early birds. I didn't see the cat across the street but Annie did; she broke free and the chase was on. In minutes Annie came home with her tail between her legs - she knew she had done a bad thing. I scolded her and we went inside. My arm and wrist still hurts but nothing was pulled loose. Just hurts a little and will probably for awhile.

Well that's enough excitement to last Annie a bit Sara. Thank you for the anniversary wishes!

Happy May Day everyone!! It is time to celebrate flowers of all kinds and birds singing loudly from the trees.

Sara, that Annie girl knew she had disobeyed! I am glad you did not hurt yourself more or get pulled down.

Denise i love lilacs too. Wish they lasted longer. Have a great anniversary.

Sara hope you don't have that kind d of excitement again. If our dog sees a cat, we might as well let him go. He won't listen when a cat is around. Hope you wrist and arm feel better.

Oh I love May!! (not just cause it's my Birthday month! LOL!) I always walked to school 1-6th grade. We would get so excited this time of year. school almost out!! Looking forward to camping in the backyard. Homemade lemonade!! Swimming at our neighborhood community center only cost 10 cents then went up to 25 cents by the time I reached 4th grade. We did a lot of planning and dreaming on those May walks! and Mother's Day! had to be in May!!

May is a favorite month of mine too. I love the flowers and greening up everywhere.

I wanted to bring attention to the article in MaryJane's April-May issue on pages 60-61. It features the Mother's Day proclamation from Julia Howe in 1872. She wanted a gathering of women to focus on world peace due to the terrible devastation the Civil War had brought upon our nation. Julia, I think you had a wonderful idea and here it is 2018 and we still haven't had a conference of women here to celebrate Mother's Day with a focus on peace. If you haven't read the article, I recommend it. Totally beautiful and meaningful for today!!

Happy Mother's Day to everyone whether you have children, furry friends, nieces and nephews or neighborhood kids! We all are grateful to the Mother's in our lives!!

I love May. Mostly because it is when I married my bestest, but also because I love all the blooming and greening and new life.

I think it is wonderful to honor women who have gone before us. I know I have many women in my own family who have focused their prayers on peace for this nation and our world. We have marches and protests but never have we had a gathering like the one you speak of Winnie.

I am very grateful for my mother and grandmothers and all they did to pass along their desires for their children and grandchildren and ultimately the world around them.

What's not to like about May. Warmer weather, beautiful flowers, flowering trees and bushes in lovely pinks and yellow, green grass and trees, apple blossoms, colorful birds are back, the smell of fresh mowed grass, lilacs, honeysuckle, and mock orange. The list could go on.

Can you believe it - it's already the 19th - where has the last two weeks gone?

I have a short to-do list today. First I got to get the New Wine hydrangea into the ground and water the other plants. It'll hit 90 today and container plants dry out so fast between the climbing heat and wind.

Second I want to start a quart of sauerkraut using the glass weights I ordered from Amazon.

Third and the least fun is doing my floors.

In between time I will rest, watch a little TV and entertain and be entertained by Annie.

What's on your to-do list?

Sara, that's quite a list.

I am waiting for the rain to stop so I can plant my bleeding heart the kids got for me. It has been raining everyday for the past week and a half.

I have to do floors also.

Have some things to go to the thrift. This is my second run. I have been downsizing in my craft area. Finished going through Dads things and organized what I want to keep. The craft room is useable again and no longer just stuffed with storage.

I load or two to go in the laundry.

Lastly tidying my room.

Denise I'll seen bleeding hearts in catalogues and magazines but you're the first person I know of who actually has one. Let us know how it does and if it takes much care. What a neat gift.

I already have one Sara. It is planted in a partial, shade spot next to a peony. They both do well there. It was just a little twig when I got it and now it is quite large. Lots of blooms. If it stopped raining I could get a picture. I am going to plant the new one on the other end of the plot where the other one is. JT had roses there but they died. He loves roses but can never get them to live long.

Denise that will look good with both in the same plot. Looking forward to the pictures. Making progress with planting the hydrangea - moved the shovel to front yard. Sometimes I have to sneak up my chores to get them done.

Sara what color is your Hydrangeas? They are such pretty flowers. They grow quite well here. We have a lot of blue ones here. There are a lot of blue ones here, the ground here have a lot acid in it. Because of the Redwood trees have a great deal of acid in them.

Hugs and love to you all.

Made the sauerkraut - another check off for me and took a long nap. The floors will have to wait for another day - maybe I'll get to it Monday morning.
