What a nice idea Sara, I bet it was a pretty apron.

I have been out of the loop theist few days. Wow, Linda, you always find the best treasures for unbelievable prices!! Does that $10 sewing machine work? I would love to find such a bargain!!

Sara, glad to hear that you had a fun visit from your niece too. It is especially fun to be able to offer her a special apron as a surprise as well. I am sure she will enjoy using it and thinking of you each time she puts it on.

We finally got the log cabin wallpaper finished! I had to order one more roll and it got delayed in shipping for some reason or another and ended up being a two week wait. Now, to just finish some small paint touch ups and add the molding around the ceiling and we will be finished. Finally starting to get to the end. My office/craft area has been a total mess for over a month now and I am ready to be done!! I do love how the paper turned out and when I get this thing all completed, I will post photos for you to see. Right now, it is hard to imagine the final product. The wallpaper does produce a very authentic look and feel to the room. It seems that any renovations always took much longer than they should for one reason or another. We also can't put up the ceiling molding until our friend returns and we can borrow his miter saw(whatever that is! LOL!!) Did I mention that I am not particularly good with waiting and being way-laid with one simple thing after another@#!!

The sewing machine works perfectly, and doesn't need cleaning or repairing. I love it!

Is there one of our henhouse farm girls who might be a size 6-8 and fairly tall? My friend cannot wear the extra crocheted granny square skirt I bought and I'd like to find a farm girl who wants it. It is only $10 plus shipping. I am asking here, first, then I will post on the main forum.

Maryellen, lovely picture you posted of Linda and yourself.

Linda, you are amazing at finding deals! Lovely skirt.

Not much happening in my area. As I mentioned in a prior post, I am still working on completing quilting UFO. I am taking a break from hand work as my left forearm and wrist hurt. I've been giving it a rest for the past week and thought I'd try knitting today, thinking it was a different movement. But, nope not different. So knitting is out of the question. For now I'll just be pushing fabric under a sewing foot.

Pumpkin is home for spring break. Although I haven't seen much of her (such a busy bee) it's nice to have her home.

Catch you all later!

Denise - the waist is 26-28" when stretched (Ed stretched it out while I measured) and the length is about 39". The waist is only 24-1/2" when not stretched.

What I hadn't noticed at first, but should have since I could see the shape and the one that fit me did fit - the granny squares are slightly smaller at the top and gradually get to the size of most of them, so the skirt is flared to the tube shape.

it is almost long for me, too. I don't know why she made them so long. It is a great skirt. I may have to find a pair of comfortable higher heeled shoes to wear with it. LOL!

Carole hope your arm and wrist get better. I suffer with the same problem. Hate it when I have to take breaks from knitting or hand sewing.

Winnie your room sounds great! Excited to see pictures.

I had that problem a long time ago, too. It started when I hand sewed numerous stuffed animals very quickly for Christmas. I hope you get better soon.

Carole, I hope your arm and wrist get better real soon! It is very hard to want to use your hands and do your regular projects and not be able. I have been dealing with trigger thumb the past month and that really limits me. The doctor gave me a cortisone injection last week and said it takes about 2 weeks to heal. While it is better, it is still not gone yet. Knitting and anything repetitive aggravates it. I am hoping it gets gone soon!!

Today I had an injection of cortisone in my hip. Hopefully this will help ward off the pain when I walk long distances. If it does work, I will get another injection before we leave for China. I'm a little sore now, but hope to feel better in a couple days.

That is neat, Denise. Thanks for sharing.

Well feel better Linda, I don't envy the shot, but if it works wonderful especially for a long trip to China.

I sympathize with all you who are hurting. I have arthritis everywhere. I hope you find relief. I found I must change activities often. I used to laugh when I was a kid and the "old" people would talk about their pain in the sacroiliac. No wonder they had trouble walking. I got a shot on each side of my lower back. Just waiting to see if it works! In the mean time, laugh. Happy days friends!

I think it is really hard to experience pain as we age and know that it will most likely not ever leave. I too have issues with joints in my left foot which have dramatically changes what shoe I must wear and creating an orthotic that helps. But nothing works all the time and presently I only have three shoes that will work. Plus, I cannot wear one shoe all the time and have to change to a different one every day. It has become challenging and frustrating but I remind myself that it is doable and that I am lucky not to have a condition that places huge limits on what I can do.

Has anyone heard from Shannon or Katie lately? I have been worried about them as the last contact had them facing big medical issues.

Yes I have to change shoes too. It is hard when I have to work on my feet.

I am still up though. God is good.

We are on day 2 of no power. Though yesterday it was off most of the day we had about 2 hrs. around dinnertime that it was on so I was able to get a meal cooked. Today we went out. Glad we arrived when we did because they were getting very busy with many who had no power yet. We saw trucks out on our way back. They were cutting trees off a wire two houses down from us. For a few minutes they were at the end of our drive so I imagine they are still trying to find the problem. We aren't expected to get power till midnight tomorrow. We have kept the .small refrig/freezers closed as well as the big one so I am hoping we don't lose anything. My phone gets run down fairly quickly so that is why I wasn't on here before now. Hope everyone is doing well
