Marilyn, thanks for the sweet wishes. I know what you mean about going to bed early most nights I am in bed between 5-8. That doesn't mean I stay in bed. I've been up since 2a.m. - hope to go back to bed soon.

Denise that is really cute.

Linda,
Your trip to the memorial sounds interesting.

Sara,
I have nights like that. I usually get up and clean. lol
I have found that if I drink a glass of water right before laying down and get to sleep before 10:30 I can sleep through till about 6:30.
I used to have to get up around 2 to use the rest room but since I have been better about doing this routine every night I don't seem to need to.

Has everyone heard? Saturday, March 10, is this year's National Skirt Day. https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/skirt-day/
I have a lot of skirts, though I usually don't wear them as much as I'd like to. Shall we all try to wear a skirt on Saturday?

I wear them though usually only to church or during warm weather. But if it's snowing again I'll be in where it's warm.

Yesterday I worked the voting polls at the Texas primary. We only had about 264 voters come in all day (out of 1300) - so it was a boring day, really, for the 4 of us working there. But it will give me a little spending money, so I can't complain.

Also, a few more things about our weekend trip to Oklahoma -

Pawhuska, OK, is also the home of Ree Drummond - Pioneer Woman, from the tv show. We went to her Mercantile store and it was great - a LOT better than Magnolia Market, in Waco, TX. After spending money there, we got the directions to go out to the The Lodge, where she films her show. This property is a little over 18 miles from the Mercantile, that is in the center of Pawhuska. You can only GET the map at the Mercantile, and it is only good for the one day. They say you need the directions as your "ticket" to get into the property, but no one ever checked ours. Her filming location has a beautiful view. On their many many (433,000) acre ranch they also have around 3500 wild mustangs. We were told that they DO get some compensation from the government for having these mustangs in a safe place, but he also told us that the ranch loses money because they could make so much more if they had more cattle in the same areas.

We went to an antique shop in Pawhuska and I found a 1948 Singer 128 electric sewing machine, in its wooden case, for $10.00!!!

Then on the way home, Ed and I stopped at an antique mall in Madill, OK, and I found the best crocheted granny square long skirt! Yes, a skirt! At first I thought it was an afghan. There were 2 of them. I tried one of them on over my jeans and it fit, so I had to buy it. It was marked $20.00, but the entire booth was 50% off, so I got it for $10.00. You couldn't buy all the different colors of yarn for that price. The other skirt was to small for me, but $10.00??? Yes, I bought it, too. I know I can find SOMEone who will want it - it is about a size 6-8, the woman thought. The skirts are heavy, and you need to wear a slip under them, but the approx. 3" squares are very well done. Here is a picture of mine.

Beautiful skirt Linda. I have always loved skirts and dresses. My mom told me she have to fight with me to get me to wear pants when it was cold.

Love the sewing machine! That was a great buy. I watch Pioneer Woman quite often. Love her products. We can get her kitchen things at Wal-Mart. The dishes are so pretty.

I worked as an election officer a few years ago. We have three school districts in this township. One of them had a school board election. There were only 12 registered voters for that district in this township. Everything had to be set up the same as any other election. Three of us spent the entire day with nothing to do and no one showed up to vote. The school district had to foot the bill. A congressman that lives in this township stopped in to see how it went. They now puts all school board elections in the same year as the Governor's election.

What a good deal on the machine too!

Today I was supposed to meet with a couple friends for lunch but one of them came down sick. I met the other anyway and she thought it would be a great idea for us to get some women together and have a knitting/crochet day. Maybe a few hours a day once a week. I thought that would be great so we are going to ask a few others we know who might like to join us and see if we can get it going. It won't be until April because the two I meet for lunch will both be gone for a few weeks. The two of us don't know each other very well yet but today gave us an opportunity to do that.

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Linda, You have a knack of finding great deals!!! You and Ed are quite a team of bargain hunters. I want to visit The Mercantile so I am glad to hear it was a pleasant experience. Here is a picture of Linda and I thrifting when she visited NC. Maryellen

My niece and DH are visiting from Mass. My sister Bobbie brought them over this morning and I showed Beth the aprons from which she could choose one. She chose the white bib apron that I embroidered in shades of orange. The design is a bowl with "Life is short lick the bowl". Aprons make nice on the spot gifts.
