Hi everyone I wanted to get on and find out what is going on with my sisters. And tell what is happening. Took hubby to dr. They said he had two strokes. First one small, the 2nd bigger it affected his speech a little and his left side a little. But he is doing ok.
Well we got us a fur baby. A little dog. Sweet, he is small but a mix mutt. He fits us perfect. His name was Poncho so that's what we kept. I want Terry or my niece to help me post a pic. He is black, brown and a little white under his belly. So that is what is going on.
We had snow here yesterday and it was beautiful. Of course its all gone now. It made it feel more like Christmas season.

So will post more later. I want to catch up and read what I've missed on here.

Love You All

Carole I wanted to say how much I'm going to miss you but understand. You are so sweet and you did a wonderful job as Head Honcho. Hope you hang around. That is wonderful that you can speak infront of people. I am not good at that. Your in my thoughts and prayers on your future.

Marlee praying for complete healing for your DH.

Looks like Poncho has found himself a home. Our fur babies do bring us joy.

My Annie is helping the dog next to us dig under the fence into my backyard. Annie knows it's a no-no so she does it when she thinks I'm not looking. Annie shows no signs of wanting to get out - she just wants Houdini to play with her. My neighbor got his name right when she named him Houdini. He's a Min-Pin and always getting out of her yard and running the streets.

Winnie there's a lot of white trimmed in red in Texas. A red and white kitchen is so crisp looking. I have several pieces of cream trimmed with red and one orange trim. The green is my favorite but I like splashes of color. I found an orange water dipper - orange enamelware is rare around here but it doesn't cost $$ like the other colors. If orange ever becomes popular the prices will go up.

I started collecting the cream and green almost forty years ago when the prices on it was low. A couple of years after I starting hunting for it Country Living showed cream & green enamelware on it's cover and throughout. Next time I went collecting the prices had doubled and been going up ever since.

Marlee,
So good to hear from you. Sending prayers for your husband's complete healing from this. Fur babies are always good for us. They seem to help us in so many ways.

Sara, an estate sale sounds fun.I have a lot of enamelware. Some is white with red trim and some of it has black trim. The black trimmed are deep rectangle pans with covers. All of it came from my grandmother's things. I also habe one of her dish pans I think it is. It is grey/blue sort of color. Mom used to have it hanging in the kitchen

Denise black trim is rare here. See mostly the red trim and cream & green. I know you treasure the pieces from your grandmother. All mine are from estate and garage sale finds.

One funny story. Years ago my sister Betty was driving in the country outside of Paris when she saw a cream & green slop jar laying by the trash barrel. She stopped and asked the woman if she could buy it and the woman couldn't image why but sold it for a $1. Betty gave it to me and since I have planted herbs in it. I now proudly have three - all are planted with herbs.

Marilyn it was a good sale because I could afford to buy. Lately cream & green is out of my price range.

Not really attached to any of it Sara. But I do use the rectangle black and white. I think the red and white is in storage somewhere in the basement.

Here is a picture of my non-traditional Christmas tree. Ed added the tree topper. We love the way it turned out - with the icicle lights and glass ornaments.

Darlene slop jar is a country chamber pot. Instead of fancy china they're enamelware.

Thank you for the comments. I love my tree, too - I just MAY have started a new tradition at my house.

When I saw a ladder tree on the front of the Country Woman magazine, I loved it. I went to Pinterest and found many more. I liked the icicle lights best - for this year, anyway. I showed it to Ed and he said he had a weathered ladder at his house. He brought it to my house and the rest is hers-tory. LOL! I am going to put a quilted tree skirt under it - just need to bring it in with my Christmas quilts today.

Your tree is lovely Linda! Great idea! And when Christmas is done, you can hang quilts! lol

Not much going on around here. I delivered my sermon yesterday and it went quite well. I had lots of positive feedback, with quite a few people coming to talk to me after the service.

Today, I plan on machine quilting Pumpkin's Christmas quilt so that I can get it wrapped and under the tree before she gets home.

Carole, glad your sermon went well too. Good luck with your daughter's quilt project. Isn't it nice to have more time to devote to these special projects?

Sara I have my great grandmother's chamber pot. It is white porcelain. It looks like a giant sized mug or cup with a handle on one side. It is from the 1800s. My DIL has a granite one with a plant. Seems like it has red trim on white.

Linda, that is a good Texas tree. I have or made from barbed wire. It is only 18" tall. Last year the parents of a little boy made the other teacher and me a candy cane from horse shoes.

Ladies, pray for Shannon. I had an email from her about a week to a week and a half ago. She said Jenni is fine but she had to have another procedure done that had to do with the C-section.
