As our prayer requests seem to get lost in our chatter, I thought it might be nice to have a separate thread, specifically for our prayer concerns. This could also be a great place to update with praises :) for surely our God is a loving God - One that answers our prayers with what is best!

I know Alicia has asked for prayers for her grandparents and her husband, Matt's, step-mom. Alicia - any update???

We have also been praying for our Hen Honcho <3 Hoping you are feeling better and will soon be joining us again Erin! We miss you!

There are others of you that I have been praying for... but I will let you share what you see fit <3

Shannon, thank you for starting this. Some of you may know I have my dad living with us. We went to his regular 6 month appointment with his primary. He always does bloodwork. A few times ago it was his thyroid and he put him on something for that. Has helped a lot. They called and said he wants to see him for this bloodwork as his levels were high. Didn't say what levels but I think it may be his kidneys. Things stop working when you get to be his age (91) at least for some people. So I would ask prayer for the Lord to direct the doctor and dad as he still makes his own decisions. My husband is a big help and goes with us when something comes up like this. He also goes to his heart doctor appts with us.

I'll be praying for all of you, Denise. My dad had a lot of trouble with his kidneys. They were damaged after some extensive cancer treatments years ago. And my husband and I just spent the last couple of years, especially this past year, going to all of his dad's dr appts with him. I can totally relate...hope all will be well!

Thank you all. It means a lot to know others are also lifting him in prayer.
His appointment is on Wednesday.

On the 20th he has an appt with a dermatologist to see about getting a small cancerous growth taken off his nose. This is the fourth time for skin cancer on his face. Last one he had to have radiation because it was deep and they didn't want to mess up his cheek. That was 4 years ago.
Thank you Debbie, it's good to know someone has done the same and can relate. You all are an encouragement and some days I really could use some.

It's always nice to have an extra set of ears at dr appts...it's so easy to miss something in the conversation and so hard to remember everything! I was always amazed that my mom could remember "numbers"...as in, his numbers were high...or the numbers were low. When you have more than one issue going on at once, it's hard to keep everything straight.

Shannon thank you so much for taking over the leadership of this page while I've been MIA. That is a praise indeed! I've been doing better, and I appreciate the prayers so much. I started working out again a couple weeks ago. That's been a big help. I also found a great group of homeschoolers that have been very supportive and my kids have built some really good friendships this year. I thank God for the people He's brought into my life this year, especially related to homeschooling.

I have one prayer request right now, for my friend Mike. He's been going through all kinds of tests to find out what's wrong with him and no one can tell him what the problem is. If he sits too long in one position, whatever part of his body has pressure on it is swollen badly. His lymph nodes swell constantly. He's had so many blood tests, a CTscan, PETscan, met with oncologists, allergists. He's seeing an infectious disease specialist on Friday. I'm praying that he can get some answers soon. Please pray for him.

Denise I'll be praying for your father also.

Debbie,
You are so right and that's why it's good that he goes along. I am grateful that he is does so much for my dad. His appt is at 2 tomorrow.

I'd also like to ask pa
Prayer for my mother in law. JT takes care of her finances and such long distance. She is western Pa. That is not easy as it is and even worse when one of hers other children bowers money that she doesn't have and leaves her with nothing. She is living on SS and this particular one keeps borrowing it. Now she is overdrawn because she has trouble living within her means and the money was the back up for overdrafts. When borrower was confronted all we got was "I'll pay it back as soon as I can." It needed to never be taken and we explained that to his mom but she can't tell them no.
Prayer is for my husband to do what he needs to in order for this one to stop. Be it a lawyer or whatever.

Denise~~

Denise - continuing to pray for your dad's appointment tomorrow!!! Also for your MIL and JT to know how to handle the situation. That is ROUGH!!! What a hard place to be in!!!

Erin - SO GOOD to see you on here!!!! I am so glad you have found such a great homeschooling support group <3 We are praying for your friend, Mike!

Most of you know I have been struggling... we thought it was due to the CO mess... but it looks like I may have viral meningitis! They say I should be over it by the end of the week or beginning of next. My prayer request is that the children, especially Emi, does not get it!!!

Praise report on prayers!
We found when the drs office calls to talk about bloodwork they don't know what it's about really. We went to dad's appt today and though yes his levels were a little high they were lower than last year's bloodwork. His cholesterol is up but with diet we can bring it down. Plus he's been on meds for that for a long time. So it was not as bad as we feared and I am grateful God answers prayers even before we ask.
Thank you all my sweet farmgirl sisters and know I take each of your requests before the Lord daily.

Yes, it did feel like a weight had been lifted. I was praising the Lord before we even left the room. His iron is a little low and Dr suggested a glass of red wine once a day. I wondered if non alcoholic wine has the same iron content.
Anyway, I do appreciate continued prayer for Mondays appt. And that it they would be able to remove these the same day and for quick healing.
Thank you all. Prayers mean so much.
