Yes Marilyn, I agree, we must continue to pray for our Country until Donald Trump can be installed and take over. There is still a lot of troubled people out there. I read California is trying to Secede from America. shows how ridiculous things are. Prayer please continue.

Prayers for healing for Linda and Ed's friend who had the stroke that her memories will be restored as her body heals. Prayers for Marilyn's friend that he should continue to heal.

Agreeing with Darlene for prayers for our President Elect and all who govern us in our towns, cities, states, and federal. God is in control but he also hears and works through our prayers.

I had not heard that about California wanting to secede from the US, Darlene. But haven't they talked about that before, too?

Marilyn! Yes! God is in control!! I didn't not vote for the outgoing president, I always prayed for him, I never, ever slammed anyone who voted for him. Look at the Election map! It was RED not just in the south and Rural areas! but all over! The media say that trump won because of people in the rural areas and those of us with no college education! The way they said it! Farmers feed this nation and the world!!!!!!!!!! Us middle class bear the tax burden for millions who don't pay taxes at all! I do my own research, before I believe the liberal media about anything!

Imagine....Connnie

Prayers for all those in need!!

Darlene, thank you for your concern. It means a lot to me.

Everyone, could we please refrain from talking about politics. Regardless of your political position, there has been a lot of negative and vicious things said during the election and many people are hurting. Let's be gentle with one another. EVERYONE is doing the best they can....

I will leave you with a beautiful poem by Mary T. Lathrap ... please read it from the heart.

Judge Softly - circa 1895

Pray, don't find fault with the man that limps,
Or stumbles along the road.
Unless you have worn the moccasins he wears,
Or stumbled beneath the same load.

There may be tears in his soles that hurt
Though hidden away from view.
The burden he bears placed on your back
May cause you to stumble and fall, too.

Don't sneer at the man who is down today
Unless you have felt the same blow
That caused his fall or felt the shame
That only the fallen know.

You may be strong, but still the blows
That were his, unknown to you in the same way,
May cause you to stagger and fall, too.

Don't be too harsh with the man that sins.
Or pelt him with words, or stone, or disdain.
Unless you are sure you have no sins of your own,
And it's only wisdom and love that your heart contains.

For you know if the tempter's voice
Should whisper as soft to you,
As it did to him when he went astray,
It might cause you to falter, too.

Just walk a mile in his moccasins
Before you abuse, criticize and accuse.
If just for one hour, you could find a way
To see through his eyes, instead of your own muse.

I believe you'd be surprised to see
That you've been blind and narrow minded, even unkind.
There are people on reservations and in the ghettos
Who have so little hope, and too much worry on their minds.

Brother, there but for the grace of God go you and I.
Just for a moment, slip into his mind and traditions
And see the world through his spirit and eyes
Before you cast a stone or falsely judge his conditions.

Remember to walk a mile in his moccasins
And remember the lessons of humanity taught to you by your elders.
We will be known forever by the tracks we leave
In other people's lives, our kindnesses and generosity.

Take the time to walk a mile in his moccasins.

With love and compassion

Hi all! I am cheating and copying a post I made on the porch on the main forum :)

Soooooo an update on us... We are officially living in Wyoming now :) It has been a bumpy ride up to this point! We took a couple weeks to get out here, visiting friends and family on the way. Got to meet Alicia and her family (DandeeRose)... been online friends for 9+ years, and just now met! We should have made it happen a long time ago! Moved in the house two weeks ago.... Had no internet until the other day, and terrible cell phone reception! But we are getting there. We have had to replace our hot water heater and refrigerator, the dishwasher leaks and the dryer takes two hours to dry. But the biggest issue has been our closing costs... We were instructed to wire them a couple days prior to closing, were sent wire instructions, and did so. Only to find out that the wiring instructions were fraud and we are now out $5k!!!! To say we are struggling is an understatement! Moving is expensive enough, without an added loss! We are trusting God to provide and let me tell you, He has blessed! We have received free deer and elk meat... not a ton, but a couple pounds here and there, that are keeping our bellies full. We also met with a gentleman the other day who said he has lots of deer tags left who said he will give us one of the deer he gets in the next few weeks. God is so good!!! Speaking of God, we are hoping to try a new church this Sunday. We haven't gone up to this point due to all of us being sick with all the climate changes. We love the area and and are looking forward to building our homestead here! We are still waiting on our belongings to arrive... they are saying by the 21st.

Thanks Carole that is beautiful and well said. I am going to make a copy of that.

Shannon it's good to hear from you and to know though hectic all is well with you and your family.

Carole, thanks for posting such wise words.

I grocery shopped today so rest of my day will be spent writing dates on cans and re-arranging my pantry as I put things up. Grocery shopping for me is a all day job.

I am blessed that I am able to buy what I need and a little of what I want.

Sorry to hear of your problems with the closing costs, Shannon, but happy to hear you are getting settled. Living out in the country is really hard for Internet and phone connections; options for carriers are not always very plentiful.

Yesterday I got all of my recommended vaccines for people 65 and over: Pneumonia Prevnar13, Shingles, and DPT booster(titmouse, dypyheria, and Pertussis combo). Thankfully, I got my Flu vaccine last month because my arms are so sore this morning! LOL!!! The good news is that next year, I just need the second of the Prevnar series and a flue shot. The DPT is good for another ten years. Geez, turning 65 is like being a baby as far as the vaccine requirements go. LOL!! But I am grateful to have such a simple and painless way to protect myself from serious illnesses as I age. We are so blessed in this country to have the availability of these vaccines right at our CVS pharmacies and many other pharmacies.

Carole, hope you are feeling better and getting rested up before the Holidays.
Shannon, I was so sorry to hear about your loss, but thankful that God is supplying your needs. Prayers that the transition will go smoothly and you will all stay well. Change in climate can be a bit challenging for some.
Winnie, So happy you are UTD on your shots, especially the Shingles vaccine! They are terrible! I got my Prevnar 13 today, so I am good for the rest of my life on that one :)!
You all stay well and enjoy Thanksgiving and Christmas. I can't believe it is here already!
Hugs, Ruth

Good morning everyone,

Hard to believe that Thanksgiving is right around the corner. We are hosting this year and expect 30 +- people around the dinning room table. It is such a blessing to be surrounded by family and friends.

Connie, I'm so glad you started the thread on Thanksgiving ... seems we are continuously pushed to think of the next holiday as opposed to enjoying the present moment. Joy is found in the present moment and not in the future! I was appalled to see Christmas decorations in stores before Halloween. I can understand holiday items in craft stores, as everyone is attempting to keep up with their hand made gifts, but decorations for the house?????

Winnie, glad you are all vaccinated .... we are indeed blessed to have all of the services at our fingertips.

Shannon, good to see that you have arrived safely. Make sure to let Sherry know of your new address.

Denise, hope you are feeling better.

Alicia, good to see you back. You must be settled by now in your new life. Do tell us all about it.

Bonnie, good to see you. What has been happening in your world?

Ruth, great to see you. What's new with you?

Enjoy the day everyone! Cheers!

Dear sisters, thank you for your birthday cards, and all the other cards, emails and Facebook messages. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you. These have been hard times for my family, and I have felt your love and support. I hope to be active again in our henhouse very soon, I really do. God willing. Please pray for us, and thank you for being there.

Happy Day!
