Marilyn, my sister and I were talking about Indian summer on our way to a thrift store. It's sunny and warm here - much too warm for my liking this late into Oct.

At the thrift store I found a small hand applicate round scarf that will look good on my kitchen table. A little 4" square vintage potholder and a small scarecrow crow. All for $1.35.

Sitting here with the fan going and the windows open. Indian summer has arrived here as well but it looks like a cool down again at the end of the week. Just in time for the pumpkin festival.

We are having very warm days but the nights have been in the 60s and the humidity is lower so overall we are doing better in the weather department. We are supposed to see more fall like weather this coming weekend and I hope it really gets here!

Good morning everyone,

Came in early at Fibre in order to de-frost my fridge. I have a small fridge and left the door ajar all night the other day. Ah ... the good old days of refrigeration. I often wonder how our fore-mothers managed their day .... there was so much to do with washing clothes (the old fashion ringer machine), cooking (no bread machine etc) ... I know my mum's house was always clean. I do not recall a messy kitchen ....

I just cannot believe that October is almost over! My goodness, where has the time gone? I don't know about you but I feel that as I get older, time seems to fly. Either I'm having such a great time that I don't notice time or aging does that to you. I'm thinking the latter!

I still need to get ready for my trip to Houston. I fly out on Thursday. Hum ... I'm wondering if I will get a chance to meet Mary Jane. I don't know if she has a line coming out and if so, will she have a booth with Moda this year. She did with her Glamping fabric line. Well, I sure will let you know if I see her. If you all want to see what is going on at Quilt Market, make sure to follow FIBREJUNCTION on Instagram. That's where I will be doing most of the posting.

Sunday I am meeting up with a friend in Montreal for brunch. Always a treat to catch up with friends. Afterwards I'm planning on visiting my mum and have dinner with her. Which reminds, I "should" let her know about it! lol

I hope you all have a great weekend! Catch you later! Cheers!

Morning all, Beautiful fall day today. We took Shelby to the zoo yesterday, it was a great day to go. The weather was great cool light breeze and all the animals were out to be seen. Always a fun day, but I've caught one of those colds that just will not go away and now today I'm overly tired. But there is always things to be done so just checking in and hoping everyone will have a wonderful weekend.

Farmgirl Hugs & May all your Wishes come true.

Sherry hope you feel better as the day goes on. Keep your feet warm. Laugh if you must but I'll get a sore throat or a cold if my feet get too cold.

Carole, have fun at quilt market. I have always thought it would be fun, but teaching has summer vacation and not Autumn. I hope you see many beautiful things.
Sherry, I sure hope you feel better soon. It seems to be that time of year. Yes the days are zipping by. Christmas lights will be going up soon.

Took Charlie (he's 6) to the pumpkin festival with me today at our local Amish market. Boy was it crowded. We had lunch at the restaurant and then walked around inside. It was overcast and a little rainy here and there. We did go out to the cornfield where they demonstrated the threshing machine. They had a huge wagon filled with wheat sheaves and they were showing people how it works. Charlie came home and told JT about it. I think he didn't hear me when I said it was wheat because when he was sharing with JT he told him they put weeds in there. They cancelled Boo at zoo where he and his family were going but I guess the festival made up for it. We brought home some fresh made donuts for dessert tonight.
While we were having those JT texted to say he got a buck. So we will have meat in the freezer this winter.

Denise, it sounds like you and Charlie had a great day. I love to be with little ones who love to learn. Awe and wonder! My daughter in law makes the best chicken fried steak from deer. My son is not a hunter but she has a co worker who is and shares each year.

Well the Loleta Cheese factory is now officially called the Artisan Cheese Factory, doesn't quite roll off the tongue but they are still open and had a grand opening for a grilled cheese and Espresso bar. Not bad getting Soup, my favorite, chicken and herbed cheese grilled sandwich and a scone and drink for $10.00 I tried the White mocha drink, it was ok but I think I will keep my butterfinger regular coffee from the store. $1.69 vs $6.00, better flavor and cheaper.

That is what I did today.

hugs

Marilyn I don't know the brand because it comes out of the machine at the little store here. In their coffee machine. It is like specialty coffee. I haven't found it anywhere else .

Today I was with Ed and we took some Quinceanera pictures for a friend of Ed's. We went to 4 different areas - 3 in downtown Dallas - for pictures.

Tonight I get my grand twins back for 3 more days; their mother comes back on Wednesday. I hope I survive. They are home-schooled and sometimes, even though I am a teacher, they have "moments" and do not want to work on their homework.

Nope! I have them the entire time - otherwise he has to wake them up early each morning and then they are crankier. LOL! They have been going to bed and to sleep quickly. so far.
