Hope all of you in the storms path are doing well! We in North Georgia haven't even got a drop of rain :(. My sister lives in the Ocala area, they got wind and rain, but nothing bad - thankful for that! The coast seems to have been hit pretty hard though! Praying it doesn't turn around and head back in!
Shannon, Safe travels for you and your family!
Love the quilts, both are so pretty and colorful.

Good Morning everyone! We are seeing sunshine this morning and grateful that we did not get much damage here in Gainesville. We had bands of heavy rains and some winds gusts that brought down limbs and lots of tree debris. We are so grateful that the worst of everything did not get this far inland and we even kept our power the entire time. Today will be a clean-up event for us. I am still seeing photos of the heavy damage done to our Florida coastal cities and some areas are a huge mess from the storm surge. This storm was a terrible blow to many communities.

Shannon, how exciting that Tuesday is the big move to Wyoming!!! Oh my, how long you and your family have waited and prayed for this new chapter. I look forward to hearing all about your new place and all the fun you will have setting up your homestead and settling in. Safe travels and Wagons-Ho to Wyoming!!

It's Monday morning - a brand new week to make our own. I think I will take a few minutes and jot down in my MJF planner what I want or need to do this week.

So glad that east coast farm girls are safe. I know they will be cleaning up for quite a while.

My DIL is a farm girl on MJF and she volunteers with the Red Cross. She is being sent to either Florida or South Carolina to help out in Disaster Assessment. She will be gone 2 weeks, so I will have the 9-YO twins during the day during that time. I probably won't be getting as much done during this 2 weeks. I hope I can sew some while they are doing their home-school classwork.

Hello everyone,

What a busy couple of weeks. Pumpkin came home for her fall break, which coincided with her father's birthday. We had a full house! I'm also re-structuring Fibre Junction, that's been keeping me out of trouble. We've had some gorgeous fall weather. I think the leaves are starting to reach their peak!

Sara, I'll have to look up where Galveston is. I won't have much time, as I am not staying an extra day like I usually do. Market can be so busy and yet among the business I get rejuvenated.

Marilyn, I have eaten at Pappasito a few times. If I am not mistaken it is attached to the Hilton. Great food, although I find that their corn chips are a tad too limy for me. I do enjoy Guadalajara on San Jacinto St. Gosh, just writing about these restaurants makes me hungry for Mexican! Come on October 27!

Denise, love quilt. I'm sure Victoria will be thrilled to receive it. Such a special gift!

Ruth and Winnie, good to see that you are all safe. What a mess the hurricane caused!

Linda, nice fall panel quilt! Thank you for sharing!

Shannon, glad that you finally received your orders. Have a safe trip!

Keep well everyone! Cheers!

Good morning,

Just a quick note to request that you read Brenda's post "taking a break" She has since updated her post informing us of the recent loss of her mum. I have sent her a note letting her know that we are here for her.

Morning all, I too saw Brenda's post and thank you Carole for letting her know we are here.

Not to take away from Brenda's mom, but we too have suffered a lose in our family. My husbands dad passed and the lady he has been married to did not tell us until Friday. By mail, she sent us a note saying it had happen over a month ago. We were all in shock. Feel more for my husband, he did not get to say goodbye to his dad. We did not even know he was ill. She would not get us see them at all for the last year or so. Just a tough time.

Farmgirl Hugs & May all your Wishes come true.

Hello everyone,

Sherry, I am so sorry for your loss. I cannot begin imagine what Mark is going through. Sending you extra hugs and positive vibes!

Not much is going on around here. I'm caught up on Henhouse stuff. As Hen Honcho, I tend to get behind a bit .... as you are all well aware, I do take care of the important/urgent stuff first. My life has been extremely busy ... it is not how I like for it to be.

DH went to PA for a weekend with the boys. Some of you may or may not know but my DH is still a member of his Highschool rock band called Interview. They are still recording songs and that was one of those weekends. Technology is amazing. They share wave files on icloud, each write their musical part (Dh plays the bass) and meet up for recording. I'll tell you, I was wonderful to have the house to myself. You can bet I popped opened a bottle of wine and enjoyed a class by the wood stove. It was a chilly weekend.

Aside from that not much is new. The leaves this year are absolutely gorgeous. DH said the drive to PA was amazing with all the colours. I do hope you are taking the time to enjoy the fall season.

Hugs to everyone,

Carole

Carole, Autumn in Texas is slow to come. It teases us, each year...but Indian Summer is still here. Sitting by the fire sounds nice. We are no where near a frost yet. That usually arrives in November.
