Julie, sounds great I can almost smell that. I had shrimp Primavera tonight and it was so good. Roasted veggies and shrimp over pasta. Yum.

Homemade chicken soup, chicken soup and more chicken soup! Dh has had a horrible cold and now he has shared it with me.

I'm thinking hamburgers would be good tonight for a change, the weather sure calls for something like that! Cheers!

I'm making dumplings tonight, the drop kind, and I got to wondering how you all make them. I learned to make them using just eggs and flour, but I have seen recipes that also include milk and even baking powder. How do you make them? We're having them with veggie soup, and garlic bread and a green salad on the side.

Happy Day!

I am glad you brought that up, because I have trouble with dumplings. My grandmother made hers with hot chicken stock. But what else??? I remember watching her roll them out, not too thin, and cut them. They were yum. But I have tried ad tried and flopped and flopped.

I'm no help on the dumplings... we are gluten free, and I have yet to find a good recipe!

Tonight we are trying some different recipes... Turmeric Butter Chicken and Rice, with Spicy Coconut Sauce along with Roasted Radishes and Carrots with Turmeric. The radishes and carrots are from our CSA. Yummy!

Well, I just made my plain old egg and flour dumplings, and everybody loved them. Shannon, I'll keep my eye outfor a gluten free dumpling recipe. How did your family like your new menu? Sound good to me. Did you ever try thin slices of radishes dipped in peanut butter? I know it sounds crazy, but they really go together well!

Tonight I'm trying an old Bisquick recipe for zucchini "quiche" using Mary Jane's's Budget Mix. Should be great (I hope!). :)

The recipe came out fantastic, Darlene, definitely give it a try. I love the budget mix. The muffins are super tasty, I make them a lot. Tonight were having "Italian" grilled cheese sandwiches, kale chips and tomato soup. I'm too pooped by Friday to make anything ambitious!

That sounds good Amy,
This morning I got creative with flour tortillas, I heated up the tortillas and added tiny pepperoni, pickled jalepeno, pepperjack cheese and sharp and then put a little ham in it. It was really yummy.
I might have to try that again sometime.

hugs

I love breakfast tortillas etc. I start with onions diced up and some pablano and jalapeno peppers, sauteed in the bacon fat as the bacon and sausage cooks. Then I add hash browns, & scramble in lots of eggs. & Cheese, cheese cheese. I love this stuff. Sharp CHEDDAR and Pepper Jack. Roll it up in warm flour tortillas. I enjoy mine with a bit of raspberry jam.I have a friend who makes up two dozen at a time and freezes them.

Wow Amy, I don't know what you definition of ambitious is, but that meal sounds ambitious to me! lol What's an Italian grill cheese? Would you mind sharing how you do your kale chips?

Tonight we had Mexican. Guacamole and nachos! DH makes a mean chili that we use as toping for the nachos. Had dinner outside, it was just gorgeous!

When my family gathers for our weekly Sunday meal, they are always anxious to see if they guessed correctly what I have fixed. We had over four inches of rain between 4:30am and noon. It was cool. So we had winter dinner. Enchiladas, pinto beans, Mexican salad, fresh green onions, cornbread and tea. I had pulled my turnips so we also had turnips and greens. Dessert was a large peach cobbler with cream. Best of all,no one guessed it, and I received lots of compliments. Both girls had seconds on cobbler.

Yum, Marilyn and Shannon, sounds good! What we call an Italian grilled cheese is this: You cut 1 inch slices if good Italian bread. Then you cut a slit in the side and stuff it with sharp provolone. Mix fine bread crumbs with some dried oregano. Dip the stuffed bread in beaten egg, then the crumbs, then cook on as hot griddle. We serve it with tomato sauce for dipping. They were good! Tonight, just hot dogs, kale chips and buttered noodles for us.

Happy Day!

Oh they are. I'm trying a new recipe tonight with Mary Jane's budget mix. My mom always loved Bisquick casseroles and has a bunch of recipes. They seem to work well with the budget mix instead. We're trying a "stroganoff" casserole tonight.

Happy Day!
