Oh Bonnie, 25 below! You'd better get out the wool socks and hot chocolate. I would be sitting as close to the wood stove as I could get. Our family room is nice and big so I can set my quilt frame up on the end near the stove.

The Minnesota Vikings game was a good one even if we did lose. I didn't watch the game but went to a great program about Monarch butterflies by a master gardener who has been documenting, raising and reporting about them for two years. Lots of great pictures. Who cared if it was cold out. Those of us in the frozen North know how to dress for it. Yes, I am keeping warm. I do envy those of you in slightly warmer climates though. Lol

I'll bet that was a wonderful program, Bonnie! Thinking about butterflies must have warmed you up a little bit, right? I plan on planting some milkweed in the spring for the monarchs. Did they mention that? I don't think I could manage that cold weather out there, bless your heart. It was kind of warm here yesterday, but it got cold (for us) and is around 32 today. I have to take 4 cats to the vet today, accompanied by my 2 side-kicks, Mom ans Lily. That ought to warm me up!

Happy Day!

I love Monarchs. They come through central Texas in April. As a teacher of young kids, my homework was to search pastures and road sides for the tiny baby caterpillars, put them into a large vented jar with milkweed and take them to school. A new supply of milkweed was picked each day. It is so much fun to watch children learn about God's critters up close. It is always sad to have to let them go too.

Marilyn is that what the Monarch Butterfly caterpillars eat?

I didn't know you could plant milkweed, I just thought they naturally grew in marsh areas? This is very interesting.

How neat to watch that.

WOO HOO! Ed and I are going to New Orleans next week and Las Vegas the week after, for a few days each trip. We are attending two RV shows as representatives of a dealership where we know the owner. Do any of you live in New Orleans or on the way from Tyler, TX to New Orleans (we will be driving)? OR in or near Las Vegas, NV? (We will be flying to LV and renting a car, then going to the Grand Canyon on one of the days. I have never been to the Grand Canyon OR to New Orleans. I'm really looking forward to these trips.

Wow Linda, you will have fun. I went to the Grand Canyon, age 13, on the way home from visiting cousins in southern California. I am sure you will see so much more than I did as a kid. I enjoyed visiting the Indians in their Hogans, weaving rugs.

If we get to the Grand Canyon, I will certainly take some. The trip is molting, and we are going to New Orleans for sure, but possibly not to Las Vegas this trip; I'll take pics whenever I get wherever. LOL!

Well have a safe trip Linda, Grand Canyon will be there, Take pictures along the way home, you might see something you aren't expecting.

I went to KMart and Michaels today, At Kmart I looking at the Roku and other machines for and then I found they still had some stuff for sale after Christmas, I got some things for next Christmas Stocking swap or other Christmas swaps including a nice stocking for 99cents and nice rolls of Christmas paper for 49cents and 69 cents a roll. can't beat that and had nice patterns on them. That was fun then I went over to Michaels just to get some of those wood plaques to paint on and oh my they had their giant grab bags for 2.00 a bag, I got five. I will have to post a picture later when my tablet works right.

Well have a good good evening

hugs
