Wanted to let everyone know that Emi is here!!! My water broke Wednesday morning... but no contractions. We finally came to the hospital around 7:30 that night... no contractions. They started me on pitocin around 2 Thursday morning... irregular contractions. So last night, at 1940, Emi was born via c-section, almost 36 hours after my waters ruptured! Because of how long I had been ruptured, we are both being observed for infection. So far everything looks good.

Wonderful, Shannon! Congratulations to you and your family! Emi is truly a beauty! Be sure to set up play dates for George and Princess Charlotte. Emi's calendar will fill up quickly; and you know they will want to meet her. Hope you mend quickly. Hugs!

Thank you ladies :) We finally got discharged today. Emi is not out of the woods yet, and still has to be closely monitored for chorio and sepsis, but at least we are now home. I am terribly sore and am dealing with huge swollen elephant feet, probably due to all the fluids they pumped into me. But again, at least we are home :) And in perfect time, as tomorrow is my oldest's 12th birthday! Joyce - it still blows my mind you made a quilt for Emi. Thank you again!!! Looking forward to receiving it! <3

I'm so glad your'e home :) Will continue praying, Shannon. I'm excited to have you get the quilt...but also extremely nervous!! I have no idea if you'll like the style or not - it's not fancy because I don't know how to free-motion quilt (hopefully in the next couple of years I'll learn - once I get a new machine, the one I have was given to me by someone and is quite old and doesn't work too well). I hope the pattern works well with your decor :)

Shannon, congratulations! She is so beautiful! I'm so glad you're home, and everyone's doing well. I'll keep both of you in my prayers. Keep us updated on how she's doing. And how you're doing too. I'm sure you're a pro by now, but getting in the swing of things with a new little one can be hard. Let us know if you need extra prayer or encouragement. :)

Joyce - I have no clue why in the world you were nervous about the quilt. It is beyond stunning. I seriously cried when I opened it! It is absolutely perfect and will be treasured!!! What a keepsake! I will be taking pictures and posting them later today, as long as I get a chance to do it, lol, as my time seems to be about sucked up right now ;) But please know that we absolutely LOVE the quilt and feel truly blessed that you have gifted it to Emi! There was no baby shower for Emi (or really any of my other kids with exception of the first one), at least not a physical one... but there has definitely been a virtual one from my sweet Farmgirl sisters. Thank you so much Joyce!!!

Congratulations Shannon and family on the birth of your little Emi. She is so pretty. How much did she weigh? I have been thinking a lot about you. I know she will have tons of love from her siblings. I hope they are being helpful around the house while you regain your strength. Give little Emi a farm girl hug from all of us.

With the weight she has lost due to the nursing issues, she is less than 7 pounds :( When born, she was 7.5 lb and 20 inches long.

That's normal though, no? My first was born 8'10 and went down to 8, but then quickly regained it after a couple of weeks. I did that with all three - they lost up to 10 ounces before gaining weight.

They usually want them back up to their birth weight by two weeks... mine usually take three weeks, lol, and Emi may be slower than that, depending on when we get these nursing issues figured out... She will be two weeks on Thursday - ALREADY!

She does look so tiny! And so adorable. Great job on the quilt, Joyce. I started laughing when I saw it though. When you get my next letter you'll understand why!
