Marilyn, no fun! My daughter had a cracked rib from coughing when she was expecting her second daughter. It was so close to delivery that they did a c section because they did want to put strain on it and make it worse.
Cracked or bruised ribs are very painful. Prayers for healing.

5Thanks Denise, it is painful. My son has ribs that pop out of place, frequently. He always has. He goes to the chiropractor, and gets it fixed. My husband was knocked down, and rolled by hooves, while feeding his horses about 20 years ago. I know it took six weeks for his broken ribs to heal and for him to feel good again.
Has your daughter had any issues since then?

No she hasn't and she had two more babes after that. My ribs give my problems when my back needs adjusting.

Wondering if you ladies would mind saying a prayer for our granddaughter Emily? She was playing outside and fell on the ice and broke her clavicle. She is back home tonight. It happened this afternoon. She will miss her valentine party at school. But I said I would drop her valentines off and pick up the ones her classmates give her. I have things for the children so will take them over to them tomorrow. Hopefully that will cheer her a bit.

We are here visiting Emily and she is doing extremely well. She is in a sling and taking motrin or tylenol for the pain. She can't go to school but the teacher said she and mom could come for the party if she was up to it. Of course she wants to go. So I think it will be a matter of helping with her getting dressed and showering and keeping her from getting bored. Her teacher is making a packet of her work for her so she is pretty well set. They will contact orthopedics tomorrow.

I bet being able to still go to her party really made her happy! I remember how we used to look forward to the holidays and class parties when we were in school.

She is pretty happy she can go. I think it will tire her though. But I'm sure her mom will give her pain meds before she goes.

She was icing it when we left last night. She said that helps a lot. I think even with the sling there is going to still be movement even if minimal and that probably causing some of the pain. I was quite surprised at how well she was doing with it. Just praying for quick healing for her.

Denise, I hope little Emily is doing better. I broke my clavicle when I was two by accidentally falling down the stairs. Thankfully little children heal faster than adults so I hope Emily was have that same experience.

They said it should be about a month. Where adults take about 3 months for the same thing. Not sure yet when she will be allowed back to school. I am going to go over and spend the morning with her.

She was so cute when I was getting ready to come home after our morning together, Em asked her mom if she could have an overnight with me. But her mom said maybe towards the end of the week when she doesn't need the pain meds so much. So she is hoping she can stay.
She would be fine with us but I think her mom is a bit nervous about it.
