Erin, I made bread sticks, white and wheat bread, dinner rolls, bear claws, raised doughnuts, cake doughnuts, sourdough rolls and bread, french and italian bread, multi grain and a batter bread (I made Sally Lunn bread...so easy and SO good!), baking powder biscuits, 3 different muffins, 3 different quick breads, coffee cake and indian fry bread.....at least that's what I can remember!!! I only needed 3 or 4 for some entries so my kids got to have a carb fest !!!! I did put a lot of the extra in the freezer. And since I was there in the building when it was being judged, I was able to bring home a few things that just a slice had been taken out of. They used to send all of the extra goodies, like the pies and cakes that were entered, over to the 4H kitchen to sell during the fair week...but they don't anymore. I'm not sure why...probably some regulation of some sort!

I am ALWAYS saying that quote from Gone With the Wind. The music is always cued up in my head right after. Most people don't know what I'm talking about, but I'm so glad you do, Debbie! And I agree, the book is fantastic!

I wish Isabelle enjoyed Anne! She is so spunky!

I have never read Gone with the Wind. I haven't seen the movie in probably 15 years or more.

I was so excited that my pocket letter was on page 15, and then I got distracted by Melyssa Williams because she's so funny, that I didn't make it to the end! I'll pull it back up...

Debbie it's the 9 pocket one on the right.

Joyce I feel the same way. I just want to get as many as I can and finish the rest when my kids aren't little! Even then I'm not sure I can do them all.

I agree...there are some that seem overwhelming...like I am never going to paint well enough with oils to enter my paintings in a show! And as I'm typing this, there's this little voice in my head saying..."what about the county fair in the art division?" I can just imagine what people would say about my oil masterpiece! haha! My son could draw better at the age of 5 than I can even now! Seriously! Or, does the thought of hosting a Farmgirl Jubilee celebration at the expert level seem a bit daunting to any of you?? Maybe as I keep going I will start to think a little more outside my box???

I'm actually planning to host the Farmgirl Jubilee next year... but i'll let you know about how I feel about it right before I do it, hahahahahaha

As for the paintings, Debbie - my theory is that no one has to know they are mine ;) It would be an experience... and show my kids they can do whatever they put their minds to. I think you would do great :)

Shannon, I hadn't thought of it that way. I like your attitude of showing your kids to not be afraid to try new things! Who knows! Maybe I'll try it! But I just know that grouchy, old lady who is the superintendent in the art building would be crabbing about WHO the artist was! That woman finds something to complain about no matter what! hahaha

Good morning my wildflowers! It's Friday

I love Anne of Green Gables, it is an item that is on my to-find thrifty list. I want a hardback copy of the book.

I have had a rough day yesterday. I am very frustrated with my job. I just want to say this...I am thankful for a good job with good pay. But it is so depressing and frustrating. Yesterday I had one co-worker dump work off in my lap, when IMO it is their work. Then I had another one go behind my back and say something, that one really smarts, as that gal I thought was a friend. We actually had lunch and then in the afternoon she repeated something I said to her. Not a big deal, I was just saying that I dislike being expected to take my laptop home every night. We have been told it is the expectation. We already have company phones so we can be reached 24-7. Well I am done with her. Plus my manager is so "out-to-lunch". He is actually out the next 3 days I learned and didn't even tell any of us. I just am having a really unhappy time at work lately. I am so thankful that today is Friday, even though I have to work a few hours on Sunday (another expectation). I am so ready to live on the homestead, and work on my terms.

Then this morning I left my wallet at home, I had a few dollars in my desk, but DH texted me and was coming to town for parts so being the sweetheart that he is he brought it me. Now I can go to the thrift store at lunch :) Maybe the day is getting better.

Well enough of my whining ;)

What are your weekend plans?
We are supposed to possibly get SNOW tonight.... who made mother nature mad? You need to apologize right now!!

I plan to clean, stitch and work on my ATC and April cards. Oh and order some seeds & plants, I think.

I have been working on a list of my first merit badges. I agree there are some I will NEVER complete. Some are out of my realm, like the run for an office or campaign. Also many of them are dependent on hosting parties and people and that is not my thing.
