I love Downton Abbey, and yes, you should start at the beginning! :) Busy day for us. We did some school, now I'm off to the post office. Then drop the kids at their uncles, then an appointment with the midwife, Costco, ladies evening guild meeting at church, and then to a friends house for the remainder of the evening. Don't know if I'll make my 10pm bed time tonight. We'll see.

Debbie, over on the Connection's Swap site there is a group of ladies who swap fabric squares. This month is was for Valentine fabric.
I am making a lap quilt "Candy Jar Quilt" by Eleanor Burns. You can google it. It will be a charity quilt for Crisis Intervention or our homeless shelter. Some of the ladies have volunteered to help with a few blocks. I believe a couple of them are in our hen house. I hope to finish it in February. Aren't farmgirls the best!

Downton is one of my favorites. I never watch any show out of order. LOL! I just can't do it for some reason.

I posted on the main forum, but wanted to mention it here... we are moving in the Fall and are trying to see who wants to get together. Sorry Joyce - we are not going to make it up to Canada ;)

Wyoming is where we are choosing to live! I'm sure when I am freezing cold I will be missing having a year round garden, but we are thrilled to be leaving SC soon!!! When the military moved us here, it was only suppose to be for three years. It has now been over 11!

Shannon, that is so exciting! It's so wonderful that you're making your dreams a reality. Are you seeing if you can connect along the way if your route permits?

Absolutely! The plan is for hubby to fly out to Wyoming the end of July and house hunt. Then we will put an offer down and get the process started. If we have as much vacation as he thinks we will, we should be done here mid August. At that point, we will pack up and head out, visiting people until we close on the house. We really doubt we will be coming back east much at all... Which is kinda funny, since we both grew up in Maryland! But our hearts are out west! with being military, we have friends a little of everywhere, so we are stopping to see them as much as possible, and depending on where we are, pitching a tent and staying for a day or two. Growing up, I had the privilege of visiting all 48 continental states... I would like our children to see some of those places as well!

We made a list of what we were looking for.... our top priorities were acceptance of hubby's counseling license, homeschool laws, and gun laws. We also looked at where we can get raw milk (we will cross the state line to SD for that one), state laws (WY has a balanced state budget!!!), and where we can get property for a decent price (we are a lower class to middle class military family). The only two states we were left with were Wyoming and Texas. Due to wanting four seasons, and the fat my brother and his family live in South Dakota, we decided Wyoming :)

What part of Wyoming? I think you might run into some Texans up there. We have quite a few folks from Montana and Wyoming living in Texas. One year for New Year's dinner we had some of my son's friends. Trying to explain why we cook and eat dried black eyed peas, and cabbage ( for luck and money), to a guy from Montana and another from Nebraska was useless. I guess it was the strangest meal they had eaten. We had a ham, and plenty of other good stuff, so they were full, but those peas had them shaking their heads.

Marilyn, you are such a sweetheart! When my project originally came up I had hoped to just send a completed square with a SASE if they wanted to help. Some of you have just really jumped on the bandwagon!
I appreciate that you made blocks and might have your co-workers sign them. That sounds fun! Only make what you are comfortable with. I will just be a lap quilt size. Thank you.

Well, Wildflowers, I am going to try to make it back to our little henhouse on the farm. A few months back, I sent an email to Erin, telling her that I wanted to resign from the chapter. Life had just completely overwhelmed me. My Dad passed away in November 2014, I had to put my beloved Chihuahua down in December 2014, one of my favorite aunts died in January of 2015 and my sister committed suicide in February 2015. Apparently, that is a lot of grief for a body to deal with. This old body just gave out and I have had health problems most of 2015.

Now, I am not telling you all this, so that you can feel sad or sorry for me. What I want to tell you about is the good stuff. Erin did not delete me from Wildflowers. In December 2015, when I was again missing the people and pets that I loved, I started getting Christmas cards.

Beautiful cards from all over the country. Some were home-made, some were not. All were written and sent with so much love. They were sent by Wildflowers to a girl who just needed to know that even though she felt alone in the world, she was not.....alone. She was loved.

Thank you so much for your love sent over the snail mail, girls. You will never know how you saved me. I will never leave Wildflowers! Erin, just try taking me off the list!

Love and Hugs and Happy Valentine's to all of you!

Sherone

Sherone, Thank you for sharing. I have not been in the Wildflowers for very long but I am so glad to know that when you needed your farm sisters they were there to keep you going! God knows who and what we need before we need them.
