This is sooo cool! I am excited to be in a henhouse!
I am a 52 year old working mom. I have two beautiful kids....Breanna is 26 and just graduated as a Medical Technician. Jake is 24 and is a ranch hand for a huge local rancher. I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 34 years tomorrow. I have two dogs...Baby, who is a 15 year old black lab and Cooper, who is a two year old Blue Heeler. I have a very old, very fat cat named Missy. We live in a log home on a half acre lot in the country. We have chickens (Silkies) and a small garden with a greenhouse. Our family has a small cattle/sheep ranch located about 30 miles from our home. We run Red Angus cattle and Columbia sheep.
I work as an office manager for a natural gas production plant. This is a 50 hour per week commitment, so I am a very busy girl.
My hobbies are gardening, Mountain Man Rendezvous re-enactments, reading, crafting, sewing, glamping, yard saling, antiquing, traveling and blogging. My dream job would be to own a craft/antique mall!
I am looking forward to many adventures with you all! |

Hi Sherone! I'm so happy that you're joining us! Can you tell me, what are Mountain Man Rendezvous re-enactments? I've never heard of that. |

Thanks for the warm welcome, girls!
Erin, we are involved in a group that re-enacts the lives of the Mountain Men who hunted the Rocky Mountains for beaver during the 1820's and 1830's. It was a rough way of life and we feel it is important to preserve and educate about the lifestyle. It is similar to Civil War re-enactments in the South. For more information, check out this website: http://www.mman.us/index.htm
Here is a picture of me in one of my authentic outfits, talking on a non-authentic cell phone.
Here is a picture of our little Rendezvous home away from home.

Sherone, that looks so fun! I love the picture of you in the field. I love re-enactments. I haven't seen very many, but they are very fun and educational. We have a Johnny Appleseed Festival in Fort Wayne in September, and they do some of that there. Last year we took our kids to Conner Prairie (near Indy) and they have an 1800s style town set up, with some civil war re-enactments. I love places like that. That's so neat that you're involved with that! |
