Hi girls! I'm a Christian SAHM of 3, ages 7,6,and 3. My kids are homeschooled. I have been married for almost 9 years to the smartest and kindest guy I know. He's also just an awesome dad, my kids have no idea how lucky they are! We have a 2 year old malamute also. No chickens yet, but we want them!

I enjoy all kinds of crafts. Papercrafting, specifically origami, but sometimes some other paper crafts. Sewing aprons, dresses and skirts for myself, napkins, things like that, mostly simple sewing. Mosaics, I have concrete stepping stones I've slowly been mosaicking, and also a concrete bird bath in the front of my house that I did years ago. I have a group of friends that I make wine with every weekend. We usually use kits, but sometimes we do them from scratch. Last night I was up mixing the oranges, lemons and sugar for our dandelion wine.

My current "project" is my journaling Bible. My husband got me one of these for mother's day, and I love it! If you're not sure what it is, basically it's a Bible with wide margins on the side to write or draw in. The pages are thicker than a normal Bible too, so that they don't bleed to the back. Google journaling Bible or look it up on pinterest to get an idea.

I love to read! Jane Austen is my absolute favorite, but right now I'm reading Stephen King... so that gives you some idea of how all over the place I am. It isn't scary Stephen King, it's a sci-fi-ish series, and the first I've tried by him. I don't like his style very much. It was recommended by a very good friend though so I'm giving it an honest try.

Other random interests are fairies, mermaids, all things Irish, camping, drawing and painting.

I'm so excited to get to know all of you better! Thank you for joining this henhouse! :)

Stephen King is one of those authors that I could never really get into. I watched the movie Cujo - AT SCHOOL - in middle school, and could never read him after that. When I think back on it, I think they were nuts to have us watch it! I do not remember why we watched it, but I've never been able to forget it! Oh the things we did in public school hers ago....

Shannon! What?! I can't believe you watched that in school! We have St. Bernards that live next door to us (3 of them) and my husband is always calling them Cujo. Then he had to explain to the kids what that meant. They saw the book I was reading was by Stephen King and they automatically thought it was Cujo. I said, No kids, mommy doesn't read scary stuff like that. I really don't. I'm kind of a wimp after reading Hannibal and Red Dragon.

Jami, I'm reading Wizard and Glass right now. It's the fourth book in The Dark Tower series. I have a couple of friends that are crazy for King, and they really wanted me to read the series. This is all that I've read by him, but I have also committed to reading The Stand at some point this year. One of my friends is reading Mr. Mercedes right now too. I'm enjoying the series, but I just don't know about his style of writing. I think I'm probably being a little too critical though.

Thankfully I do not remember too many of the scenes! We use to get "reward movie days" if we had all of our school work turned it - it was a chance for those that didn't, to catch up. Anyways, that was the reward movie! I didn't realize he wrote anything that wasn't like that, lol. My sister, after she was married, got St. Bernards. I wouldn't go near them for years! (She is 5 years older than me, so it wasn't that many years after I had watched the movie!).

The Dark Tower series and The Stand are both sci-fi, although there's some fantasy elements in the Dark Tower. I know a lot of his short stories are not scary. Shawshank Redemption was one of those. I never read that story but I love the movie. Rarely will you hear me say that... lol. I can be too much of a book snob. Sometimes I refuse to see the movie if I haven't read the book first.
