Alicia - your skirt came out absolutely gorgeous! Looking forward to a picture of you in it! One day I dream of having an embroidery machine... But that must wait until after my farm, lol

Here is Madison's masterpiece. Seams might be off a bit, and that girl is good at pinning she used most of the pins in my pin cushion but this pillow is stuffed with so much love for her baby brother who got to come home from the hospital. He still looks peaked, but Grammy got smiles, a few giggles and a couple of his sloppy kisses so he is feeling a bit better. He loved his pillow and hugged it several times. Maddy sure is proud of herself. Thank you all for the prayers.

Hugs
Julie

Julie - so glad to hear he was able to come home! Continuing to pray! And what a precious pillow from his big sister! My 11 year old uses a ton of pins as well... It takes her longer to pin things together and then unpin as she sews, then the actual sewing part, lol.

alicia - your skirt is so gorgeous! Anyway you can embroider it out on a piece of material for me so I can make it into a skirt after baby comes? Hmmmm unless I do a drawstring skirt now. Hmmmm have to think on that one! I'd also love Henrietta embroidered out for an apron if you get her figured out! One day I will get that machine... one day ;)

That is, Carole! There were 5 of us total; in the picture is me, Cecily, Ruthie Ann, and her daughter, Katelyn. My daughter took the picture! Isabelle doesn't like being in pictures, lol. We chatted about our hopes and dreams, kids, MJFG, where we are from, our faith, critters, you name it! We had a nice meal and planned to meet next month, though we have to pick a date. Ruthie and Cecily would like to sew, so I am going to help them with what I can. :)

Alicia, sound like a wonderful gathering. How sweet of you to help them with sewing! Was the meal a potluck? Or did one person host? Just curious!

Sometimes I have a quilting bee at my house and I serve a luncheon. It's an all day affair! Well from 10:00 to 3:00. We just talk about life, the universe and everything else! lol Each one of my friend brings work (whether a sewing machine or hand work) and we stitch away. Some people are great at using a machine and talking away, not me! lol So I tend to do hand work! Other time we meet at the Saranac fire station. We each bring our own lunch and the fun begins!

No, we met at a Restaurant this time. But we are talking about a potluck to go with our next meeting! It's tough, because I am a bit further out than the other ladies.

I think I need to try to find a free place we can meet that is a bit more central. Ruthie Ann volunteered her place. And it sounds wonderful! But I am 1 hr and 20 min away. :(

Alicia, your meeting sounded like lots of fun! Nothing like time to talk about various topics and just meet one another. Being so far apart does create challenges for meeting but perhaps an easier way will come forth to make it difficult to attend. Good luck on getting your next meeting arranged and keep us posted on all the fun!!

Carole, I think I've said this before, but your quilts are so beautiful! The colors just knock me out!

Alicia, LOVE LOVE LOVE the skirt! I'm so happy you had a chance to get together with the other farmgirls and your days sounds like the most fun ever (I read you blog entry about it -- I love the way your write.) Hope you are able to find a good meeting place for future get-togethers. It's really fun to read about.

Julie, Madison's pillow is indeed a masterpiece! I can't wait until my little Lily is old enough to start learning to sew. She's already shown more interest that her mother ever did! (My daughter was more interested in scientific stuff, even as a child. She can't even sew on a button! Hee Hee)

Maryellen, I wish we could get together too. Wouldn't it be fun to have a craft circle, to work on our projects and enjoy each other's company?

I haven't done much lately. I did finish my 4th of July brooch, but don't have a picture. If I can get myself organized I'll try to take one before I send it.

Happy Day!

Thank you Maryelle and Amy for your kind words. I think it would be fun for us to get together.

I've been thinking about working on a badge, I forgot the name, but it involved doing a film of what I am teaching. The subject would be quilting, but not sure what. I do need to make a film on the way I attach my two binding ends together. I had my last beginning quilting class on Sat, and a visual is so important.

I think today I will do some machine piecing, but first, I need to clean up this mess! Every surface seems to become a dumping ground! Arg!

Off to clean and take care of some thank you! Enjoy your day!

Meet Purr!! My friend is awaiting the birth of her grandson any day and I found this easy stuffed baby animal made with super soft acrylic washable yarn. It was pretty easy to make and he turned out kinda cute. I am going to go to JoAnnes for some baby flannel that matches these colors and then do a blanket stitch around the edge with the same yarn. When I purchased this yarn , I got some in browns that I am going to make up and have on hand for some future baby gift need.

Isn't that tail poking out too cute?!!
