Amy and Darlene: Great projects! I leave Wednesday for our quilt show on Lake Superior. It's huge with 100 vendors. I'm president of the group and I know it will be fun. That's why I am NOT currently working on anything. Have fun stitching farmgirls.

Beautiful Carole! Today Maddy wants to make Oliver a pillow, so we are going to work on that, I'm just excited my sewing machine gets to be turned on.

A little rain can straighten a flower stem. A little love can change a life.

Carole, your quilts area amazing. I've not seen many wool quilts, and I'm struck by the richness of the colors.

Julie, we really must see a photo of Miss Maddy's masterpiece!

Today I'm making 4th of July brooch for a swap on the big site. I'm cross-stitching a teeny weeny heart with the star and stripes on it. I hope I don't go blind! :o

Happy Day!

Thank you Amy and Winnie. This is what it "should" look like when I'm finished:

Saw it at Spring Market in Pittsburgh last year and fell in love with it. I'm offering it a block of the month. I'm a tad behind (I should be on block 6) but .... I'd like to get it finished so that I can display it at the shoppe.

What I liked the most about it is that I could offer just the wool to my customers (most BOM include all the fabrics to make the quilt top). This way, they get to work with their scraps (BTW scraps multiply when you're not looking. They're like rabbits lol) and the quilt has a personal meaning. I'm all about personal meaning. My sashing is all done and each of the fabrics used (scraps) have been used in other of my quilts. I love personal stories!

Oh Carole!! I LOVE that!!! Today I nearly finished an "Americana Chicken" skirt for me. Debating on wearing it to my meeting tomorrow... HMMMM.... I embroidered a hen in a gingham apron on it, but I really WANTED to digitize Henrietta for it. MaryJane gave me the ok, but the file wasn't good enough quality. She is sending me a better file! I can't WAIT to play with it! If it stitches out (I am not a great digitizer, practice, right?!) I will make something just for Henrietta!!! :) I don't think I could wait that long, but maybe I could use her on MaryJane's new Glamping fabric line she is working on. BTW, MaryJane asked ME is I would like Dandelions and Roses on some fabric, so I am crossing my fingers for some like that!!! :D

Thank you Winnie! I'll be prepping more blocks this weekend. I like to have all my blocks prepped so that I can just pick them up and stitch. Prepping is so time consuming ... so if I do it all, I can just mass stitch! lol

Thanks Alicia! Really looking forward to hearing all about your meeting. For sure wear the skirt tomorrow! Would enjoy seeing a picture!

As for digitizing, do you have software that will do it for you? Or do you do it yourself using tools from you software? The software I have will actually digitize it for me but I do need to clean it up. I haven't done it in years (I think I may be a couple of upgrades behind). I'm a Bernina user so I bought their digitizing software. Sadly I do not machine embroider much. I cannot even remember the last time I plugged in my module!

If I get is finished Carole! :) Here is what I have so far, but I need to finish attaching the gingham ruffle, topstitch, and put in the waistband.

I also finished this. I am not sure if I will leave these flowers, eventually I think peach and coral would be pretty. I am going to make my binder in coral and turquoise. I will sit this on the table tomorrow. :)

As for my software, I have PE Design Next, because I have a Brother embroidery machine (PR650). And I am still learning, so right now, I just let the software do the work. lol!!! I LOVE LOVE my Bernina sewing machine!
