Today I went and picked these little guys up. I spent most of the day getting thier new home set up and making sure everyone is eating and drinking. So it is official, I am a chicken mama. Some are for our eggs, some are for butchering and I will sell A few of the laying hens when they get older. It has been a long time since I have had chickens so we will see how this adventure goes.

A little rain can straighten a flower stem. A little love can change a life.

Bonnie, I would agree with you, wool is addictive! I had sworn up and down that I was not going to take on another hand project. I do a lot of hand work (hand embroidery, hand applique, English Paper piecing, hand quilting - although that has taken a back seat - knitting). Kept saying to my friend Diane (my wool expert and she teaches at Fibre) "I do not need another hand project!". Well, guess who is eating her wool words! lol

Would love to see your work Bonnie! Do post some pictures.

Please everyone, do post a picture if you can. It is so encouraging and inspirational to see other farm sister's work!

Cheers!

I scrapbooked from 9AM to 9PM. Twelve long hours. I did get much done. I am so far behind. So many crafts so little time. Maryellen

Julie, those chickies are precious! I'm looking forward to hearing about your journey. Darlene, I know how you feel, I would dearly love to have a group to craft with. Not much interest in my area. Also, please do post a picture of the card when you finish. I'm fascinated by card making. Mary Ellen, I hear you, there just aren't enough hours in the day to create all the projects in our heads! I finished embellishing the placemats I've been working on and will post a picture tomorrow. It's certainly not a work of art, but they did come out nice. I'm always happy to finish something!

Happy Day!

Maryellen, can we assume that you were in the scrapbooking zone? lol Would also love to see pictures.

Amy, I think it is so neat that you embellish placemats that you find. I like the idea of adding a personal touch to a great find! Looking forward to seeing your pictures.

Thank you very much, This one is for an 8 or 9 year old who is very active so I tried to incorporate a lot of it in the card so she likes soccer, improve dancing, The movie frozen and other things but I put in an improvisational dancer I traced onto some plastic from some card stock I had and then found a soccer ball in one of my Zentangle books and it was some other kind of design but just like a soccer ball and traced it onto the plastic, which I was going to shrink but changed my mind then I found some card stock that had a winter scene and went with that for the front of the card. I made a door hanger I traced from a door hanger that I found on my door from the cable company and traced that into the plastic and drew Olaf from frozen and put some flocking on him. I then backed it with a glittered paper. It was such an odd big size I had to make an envelope for it. That wasn't easy finding something to fit it.

Well here it is.

Hugs

Darlene the card is magnificent! Where did you get the idea for the shape? It's so greaceful. I'm sure you did the skater and Olaf drawings, right? How beautiful! My grandfather was an artist, but I didn't get those genes. (My dad was a physicist, and I didn't get those, either!) Thanks so very much for sharing!

Happy Day!

The card is in two pieces and the arched card is from the same door hanger as the door hanger was made out of.
Thank you
I did do the Olaf drawing and that little character was hard for me to get his little head right. mostly because of the carrot in the right direction. The girl is actually a improvisational dancer, no skates but I traced her onto plastic and then colored her in and made clothes and face.,

Thanks again.

Cute fuzzies Julie! :) That card is lovely Darlene!

Somehow, this week, I have to work on a chapter binder for my local chapter first meeting Saturday. And a garden flag, a table decoration, finish a skirt, shirt, and some baby gifts. :/

It is a meeting binder. Beyond that I am clueless. :( It will be our first meeting and I just hope I can put something together. Another Sister just shared this blog to help me. http://www.joyelick.com/2013/11/how-to-organize-fabulous-farmgirl.html

Here's a photo of little placemat project. As I said, nothing spectacular but it was fun to come up with the design. I made a set for my Sweet Seasons swap partner and liked them so much I'm making a set for myself. Now it's back to my knitting learning process. My Quaker relatives (including my dear dad) never EVER swear, they say "Gracious" when they're really mad. Let's just say there's a whole lot of "Gracious-es" flying around my house when I'm trying to knit!

Oh, they were already made plaid homespun and I just added the red embroidery. You can't really see the details, but there are rows of red running stitch in the center of all the dark blue striping, and I did star stitches and a simple cross stitch pattern at the intersections. Thanks for the kind words, ladies! :)

Happy Day!

Alicia - I have made a binder before, and used the website to get mine started. Since I am not part of an actual meeting chapter (thank goodness for the virtual ones!) I switched up some of my tabs. I haveatab for each of the sections of badges. All in all, it turned out pretty cute. I'll see if I have downloaded the pictures, and try to post them!
