Remember, we not old, we're vintage! I wanted to share what I finished this weekend. The idea came from a craft by Meg in MJF ("Keeping in Touch, " Feb-Mar 2013, pg. 23). It's loved it and also thought it would be great help for mom since she gets a bit disoriented these days and confused by our schedule. I changed it up a little by using frames I had around, so they're all slightly different, but painted white I think they worked together. I also attached them to the backing with Velcro, and used scrapbooking paper instead of fabric for the background in each frame, so I can change then out seasonally. And I added the kitties, which were mostly old pins, but a couple of them are actually little clips to hold appointment cards, etc. I'm really happy with th way it came out! Sorry the picture is a little fuzzy.

Happy Day!

Thanks, mom really loves it. The notations are big and simple, so she can see them easily and get herself oriented (me too!). Another great idea from MJF!

For the past couple of weeks I've been working diligently on Fibre's website, imputing products etc... We're talking zombie stage at this point.

So I took a small break and finished this little quilt! And yes, that is another project in the background! You all know I'm ADDH and OCD right?! lol

Moda came out with these collectible tins .... I am such a push over for a tin... and this one has a clear top!

The pattern is called Kindred and it uses the fabric line Hello Darling by Bonnie & Camille. A new Moda Fivrol comes out every month featuring a new designer and fabric line. I'm hooked.

So if you read in the news that a quilter as been injured from a Moda Frivol tin avalanche, that would be me! lol

Off to start on Frivol 2!

Thanks everyone, the hat was a lot of fun to make. Carole, I love that mini quilt, is the quilt in the background done with the Sweetwater feedsack line, those red trucks are one of my favorites and I love the whole line of that fabric. I saw the Moda Fivrol tins and so far my will power is good, but I have a feeling I will have a weak moment. Off to pick a celery plant from the garden for fall festival, they are huge plants, so I am entering it in the mammoth category.

Hugs
Julie

Carole, love that quilt! The colors and pattern are so cheerful and full of movement. Ah, another tin fancier, I'm one, too. Those quilt tins would be hard to resist, do you have pictures of the others?

Julie, can we see that giant celery!?!

Julie, so perceptive! LOL Indeed it is. I actually worked on it last night and have it half way done. I do like the line. The pattern is from Jen Kingwell called Gene Pool but I reworked it. She calls for 2 jelly roll plus extra from your stash. So, I've got it worked out to just 2 jelly rolls. It will make a long twin, closer to a full size quilt!

Amy, I am almost finished with the quilt from the second tin. Will post a picture as soon as I piece my blocks.

I "was" going to finish it on Monday until I realized that I could be machine quilting Kindred (Fivrol 1) and actually "finish" the the darn quilt. I hand stitched the binding on last night! Tad ha!

Such a happy quilt, such a happy fabric line!

Julie, love the hat. So cute. Carole, you know my specialty is quilts. Never met one I didn't like. Great job. Love the colors. When I get time I want to make some blocks from Lori Holt's Vintage farm girl quilt. Love that woman's stuff.

I love all these projects! Since February, when Lily June was born I have not done much! First Grandbaby and probably only one, so I didn't want to miss a second of time that I get with her! I have been working on a scrapbook for her when she is older, from the day she was born to when she has her First Birthday. I have over 50 pages! and 5 months to go! LOL!

I made the Play-Picnic-TV pillow, you may have seen on Pinterest, for Lily June. You sew 4 pillowcases together, close with Velcro or snaps or Buttonholes. I used the plastic snaps. It has really been useful so far and the older she gets even better! They take it to the park. Take out the pillows and throw in the washing machine! I posted on Face Book so some of you saw it maybe. It was so easy!

My current project is some child sized Christmas quilts, pieced from the ten inch squares we recently swapped. The eight tops are colorful and pretty cute. My grand daughter suggested I use fleece as my backing, because sick kids are cold. I must finish up this afternoon because she will take them to the children's hospital tomorrow when she goes for her appointment.

Finally got around to taking some pictures of stuff I've finished. These are Christmas gifts for my brother and sister-in-law. They live a very fancy life in New York City, and I thought these would be nice to help keep warm when they are dressed up. Both sets have fingerless gloves, because they are always on their cell phones! His is an aplaca-wool blend and her's is a mohair blend with some sparkly in it:

I finished my mom's "yoga wrap" while I was stuck in bed. I have to block it, but it still looks pretty. Boy did I learn a lot of new stuff for the patterns on this!

Last but not least, here's a picture of Bonnie (my daughter) with Lily as Snow White at her school Halloween party. I loved making her costume!

Now I'm working on sweaters for Bonnie and Lily for Christmas. Whew!

Happy Day!
