Getting Ready for Halloween here at my house. Yesterday, I carved out my pumpkin and cooked some of the meat up for recipes. Then I rubbed some cinnamon inside the pumpkin to give it a nice scent when the candle warms up the inside. Pretty cute,eh? Even if it posts sideways!!

Yesterday, I found this recipe for Pumpkin Scones with Maple Cinnamon glaze that I am making today with the cooked and pureed pumpkin meat. I hope they turn out yummy!

Does anyone else carve a pumpkin for Halloween? I love to see those big grinning faces on front porches everywhere!

Trick or Treat Scattered Prairie Gals!

Good morning all!
Thank you, Darlene.......I will enjoy my winning wager spoils :)
Great final game! :)

Is anyone expecting snow the end of this week? We are getting the cold front but I don't think snow just yet.

I need to get the balcony 'winterized', planters put away etc.
Hope everyone is doing well!

Carole, loved some of the quilt pics you've shared on fb. Beautiful!

Blessings!
Linda

Hi Winnie,
Are you talking about the pumpkin seed part or the pumpkin pulp stuff? Cinnamon inside the pumpkin what a neat idea!
Your scones sound wonderful.

Hi Linda and good morning everyone too!
Were expecting 100% of rain this week end starting off and on tonight.

The church here in Loleta is setting up a table in town and passing out treats of bags of goodies and a little flyer. It will be fun they are having cookies as well.

All is good in my area for the moment.

hugs

Darlene, I am talking about pumpkin pulp not the seeds. I just take a soup spoon and scoop out the meat, add a bit of water to the pan and cook about 10-15 minutes. Then drain in a colander and puree in the food processor. Just use the amount of puree called for in your recipe or for fresh pumpkin pie!

Hello everyone,

I'm back and exhausted. I thought I would drop by and say hello before I hit the sack.

Darlene, have you had any more shaking going on?

Winnie, that is one cute pumpkin! And what a great idea to rub cinnamon inside!

Ruth, I hope you are feeling better and that your hip is on the mend!

Linda, are you feeling better? Did you ever get a chance to make that Amish bread? It sounds delicious. Perhaps you can share your recipe on the forum. Maybe we can start a recipe thread. Just a thought!

Denise, how is your dad? I do hope that all is well!

Sherry, how was your Junkin? Did you find any treasures? Where my brother lives in St Eustache (off the island of Montreal) there is a flea market and I just love to go there and check things out. He's found many treasures for me, like an old German hand crank sewing machine that I display at the shoppe. Buttons, I love antique buttons (presently working on that badge). Oh, and marbles, I collect marbles. So if anyone is loosing their marbles, I can send you some! lol

Houston was great! So enjoyed the weather. Thanks again Sherry for the tip on light clothing. I have lots to share, but I think it's time for me to catch some zzzz.

Catch you later!

Happy Halloween! I love Halloween! I always make goodie bags for the kids. It's so much fun to see them come to the door all dressed up.

Have fun trick or treating! Boo!
