Hi My SPH's...I just got back from four glorious days at Lincoln City Oregon. The weather was a Perfect 71 degree's each day,
there was hardly any wind, The Ocean was Stunning and all you needed
was a light wind-breaker jacket or shirt sleeves to walk on the Beach.
It was bright sunshine each and every day. For any of you who follow my Facebook posts...you have already seen and heard about this.

This was My Women's Bible Study Group that went down together as we have done every year for 22 years now. We rent a big house together and we all pitch in to pay the bill so it usually only costs us around
60.00 each for 4 days/3 nights. You cannot even get a cheap motel for that price...and we are always over-looking The Ocean. We will usually rent the same place for like 3 or 4 years in a row and then we get tired of the same place and start looking for a newer (to us)different house for the next few years. So, we have had some really lovely homes to stay at over the years.

This started out for about the first 17 years...as a Spiritual Retreat, with lots of time in The Word and Lessons to share etc.
But one year, it seemed that each woman had experienced many struggles through-out that particular year...it had just been a year of emotional, physical, personal, and spiritual challenges all year long.
So, The Spirit lead me to just turn our annual Retreat that year into
just a RETREAT...where we went there only to rest, relax, fellowship with each other and even shop and eat out...but He promised me (as a teacher and the leader) He would still meet us there at our Own Personal Place of Need. It was our BEST RETREAT EVER and God was very present and in the forefront of our hearts, minds and spirit.

So, from that year forward that is our only major goal...is to go
get a respite from the Challenges of Life and let God bathe us in His
Love and Embrace us in our places of need and Refresh our Spirits and Renew Our Weariness from Life. And He is always with us. And this year in particular He was just plain showing-off for all of us...as everything was picture postcard perfect.

We have one sister who just lost her older brother and her mother...just two weeks apart...and just two weeks ago. Both deaths rather sudden. One woman whose husband retired a year ago...and they have found they are not doing retirement together very well and a myriad of other things going on in each person's lives...so, it gave
us a chance to embrace each other, lift each other up, pray for each other and encourage one another and Just Be 'God with Skin On' for each other. It was a beautiful time of Friendship and Sisterhood.

We have been through every possible scenario of life with each other over the past 24 years and I know these women would lay down their lives for each other if need be. And yet, we all come from different Churches and different pasts...but it is a beautiful thing to be apart of.

I wish for each of you...that you find in Our Scattered Prairie Hens
that same kind of Fellowship of Sisterhood...I know I do. And I wish for each of you a close circle of personal women friends who help you
know how blessed you are to have them in your life and to be a part of something much bigger than yourselves.

Love and Hugs,
Peggy

Peggy, thank you for sharing I am so happy all of you had a great time and were able to help support one another, relax and just have fun. How the heck though do you manage to get all the women together at the same time? I guess we all make the time when we need to.
How wonderful too that the weather was beautiful. Oh how I would love to have a girl day for 4 or 5 days, maybe soon I will.
Have a beautiful day and enjoy your memories of the past weekend.
Hugs,
Debbie

Peggy, While reading your post, I could almost feel apart of your awesome retreat!
I have been on several ladies retreats, but not with the same ladies year after year, what a blessing for all of you. I recently did a. Retreat where I only knew one lady, and it was a great time of fellowship and growing in the Lord.
The setting sounded amazing..... one day I hope to make it to the Oregon Coast :-)
Hugs, Ruthie

Debbie...well, I had nine gals that went and 4 that couldn't make it this year...but have usually made it in the past years. I think our largest group ever was 18 of us, normally it is 13 or 14. It is just something we have done for so many years...it is one of the two Major Highlights of our year as a group and nobody ever wants to miss it.

Ruthie...you would love the Oregon Coast. I feel so blessed to just be 2 1/2 hours from both the
Oregon Coast and The Washington Coast and then we have Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Hood and Mt. Adams and even Mt. Raineer all for those who love Winter Sports. My husband and I like to go up to Mt. Hood Lodge at least once a year just to eat and watch everyone.

Connie...it was so peaceful and relaxing. When you live in The City and everyone is rushing here and rushing there and busy, busy, busy...it is nice to get away from it all and commune
with God, Nature and Friends.

Love and Hugs,
Peggy

Oh Peggy,
That was a wonderful way to have a retreat and I agree that just being in Oregon and on the coast which is beautiful and Washington as well are just beautiful places to be. God sure knew what he was doing when he created all that beauty for us.
I bet the retreats were wonderful, it made me feel good about it just reading about it.

Thanks
darlene

Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything.
Tell God what you need, and thank him for what he has done.

Tammy...I know God created lots of gorgeous places all over our Country...and I haven't
seen a lot of them...but I do know that we live in a very stunning part of the country
and I don't ever take any of it for granted.

Darlene...thanks, the Retreat was so good...that I am still relaxed and refreshed! And God
just soothed my soul as only He can do.

Love and Hugs,
Peggy
