I went to the dentist this morning, have to go back this afternoon.

Stopped at the market and picked up some fresh veggies. Making spaghetti sauce today to get it canned. Trying out my mom's/grandmother's recipe they made together. Hope it comes out all right.

What is everyone else up to?

hugs,
Denise~~

Joan, I know it feels like a lot of my day is spent in the car. We live out in the country so there is no choice there. Especially when I am taking a passenger. Though I do keep my eye out for a bicycle built for two. ;-)

Denise, I have a vintage Schwinn Bicycle built for two, just waiting for you! It's in great shape in our basement - we are too old for it :(!
Cleaned house this morning, laundry, then went out for lunch. Bought some pansies to plant in our window boxes on the deck, they are planted. Other plants trimmed up, or pulled up. Trying to get things ready for colder weather. Have to bring many plants into the house also. My hubby grows orchids, so making room for them in our Cabin/Sun room. It gets so much light in the Winter and is in the woods, second story too, so we feel like we are living in a tree house :).
Just fed the three pups, now a snack dinner for us. We had a gorgeous day here in the North GA Mountains :)
Hugs sweet ladies!

I am cleaning up the house, watching etc after the brothers visit, I am so behind on everything. But, we enjoy their visit.
Now I will get ready to start dinner, bread still has not risen all the way guess it is to chilly in the house, need to start a fire in the wood stove.
Denise your spaghetti sounds yummy, pizza sauce sounds yummy as well. I did not do any canning this year, just no time.
Enjoy your evening everyone.
Hugs,
Debbie

Well, I managed to get 7 quarts done. Planning on doing some more as it seemed to be a hit with every one of my tasters.

My sister called last night to tell me she is thinking about staying for 2 weeks when she comes. Pray for me dear sisters because she is very ill and I don't know how I am going to do it. My dad is already a bit for me to handle at times and he is healthy, for the most part. But he is not able to take care of her and I don't know if I can. She can't climb stairs and is using a walker now. This means a bed set up in the family room for her. I don't really know if she is even going to be able to make the trip and she said as much herself when we were talking. Let me give you a little back ground, my sister does not ask if she can come visit she tells you and she has always had the nature of being in control. That has not changed. I am the baby in the family and she never lets me forget that to her it means I know nothing and I do not make the calls when it comes to things that involve her. Though I do try to remember that dad is living with us and that is why she wants to come, she would never visit us nor has she before he came to live here, so I feel we can't say no. I am not sure I want to as I may not see her again and I wouldn't want to feel regret later on. I am just struggling with all the work that I know this would mean. I don't want to sound selfish nor do I want to be, but I have so much on my plate all the time. Taking care of my family and dad. Wanting to spend time with the kids and grandkids. Just thinking about it all wears me down and I don't even think much about doing anything with any of my hobbies. Sorry, I did not mean for this to be a pity party. Just sharing a little to get it off my chest. Thanks for listening.

hugs,
Denise~~

wow Denise, I can't even imagine your sister relationship. I have two sisters and we have a great relationship. I always feel like everyone has the same feelings as we do, but I know differently. We are blessed for sure. But my heart hurts for you sweet friend, what a position to be in. One thing for sure, is I will be praying for you, and all involved. Try to take it one day at a time, I find life much easier to handle that way.
Sending many hugs your way. Wish I could help :(!

In the morning I had work done at the dentist and in the afternoon I had to have an impression done as I broke my partial. Wasn't too bad. Praising God that the partial can be fixed and doesn't have to be replaced as this way it will cost me nothing.

Today was a crazy day from the moment I woke up. Hundreds of black birds all over the place; driving my cat (Cutie) crazy lol to the point she looked cross-eye. Hysterical! Then my mom must have called me at least 10 times within a 2 hour window. Then my dear little grandbaby (Hannah) decided she wanted to rearrange my livingroom. Too funny! All good though, but a little crazy

Joan, That is so sweet when little ones move things around! I always wonder what they are thinking about! Little Martha Stewart in the making! LOL!WE have certain times every year when I feel like I am in Hitchcock's "The Birds". The noise alone! and they raid the backyard bird feeders, So we have to wait till they move on to feed our little Tufted Titmouse, Cardinals, and Finches.

Oh I love Blackbirds especially in the month of October and ours seem to be as big as eagles, I kid you not.
Today I had my yearly mammogram and because it is breast cancer month I got a bag full of wonderful goodies, nice. We rain errands, had lunch then headed home in the rain. It was snowing hard on Pikes Peak, by the time we got home at 3:30 it was raining and snowing and it is 34 degrees, wonderful fall weather, I love it. Have a nice fire going in the wood stove to take the chill off the house. Nice quiet evening here at home and catching up on emails.
Have a wonderful fall evening all.
Hugs,
Debbie

So baking ended up being on my agenda for the day today. Did two bundt cakes using the Friendship bread recipe as well as 4 small loaves. Two dozen pumpkin muffins as well. All but 1 of the bundt cakes tucked neatly away in the freezer for later.

Need to tidy up a bit for my sister's visit this weekend, and dd and her family are coming over later tonight for supper. Received a book in the mail today that I had ordered so I am going to curl up with that and a cup of my new favorite, Pumpkin Spice coffee. Amber has me hooked on this stuff. She sent it with my fall swap and I use it in the Keurig. Yummy!

Dad is doing pie crust so he is making pumpkin pie (using up what I had left over) and I think he said an Apple cake. Glad I am on WW or I'd be digging into this stuff for sure. ;-)

Rainy/drizzly here today and apparently for the whole weekend. Hope everyone is having a great day.

Rainy and drizzly here today too, I am using the break from harvest to make cinnamon rolls, ginger snaps, cleaning a much neglected house this week, catching up on laundry and doing bookwork. Whew hope it all gets done before the sun shines again. Have a great day everyone.

Hugs

I think it's great to use these rainy days for indoor things Julie! I know I like to be outside when it is nice and not sure how many days we will have before it starts to really turn colder.
Sounds like a productive day for you too.

I love the sound of all this baking being done. I think about it but then I find myself going 4 different directions so it doesn't get done, but the school I work at is going to have a carnival next week so I may try to bake some cakes for the cake walk. We shall see if I get it done.
Today I was working at the school and was cleaning one of the bathrooms when I heard the councilor for the boys and girls club yell out "Earth quake, Earth quake" I didn't feel a thing. Other people felt it in different parts of the school. Apparently it was a 5.0 further north toward Eureka.
Tomorrow I have to go to the Antique show our community is putting and sit and sell silent auction tickets or our Chamber of Commerce, I guess it will just be me so I will be there from 11:00am until it closes unless someone comes in to help. I want to look at the antiques while I am there though. maybe get some ideas from it.
Sunday I will go to church and then rest I think and maybe do a craft or two.
That is how my weekend is going.
