It's me again :) Mama Hen wanted me to let all you girls know that these fun crafts do not have to be badge-related. (I didn't even know what a badge was). If anyone wants to make a craft and earn a badge, they can certainly do that. However, we don't want anyone to be intimidated by a skill level that is too far out of reach. She is hoping that all the craft hostesses will plan a craft that is easy and simple enough for all the farmgirls to do if they choose to. Keep it simple, keep it fun, and for December she suggested something seasonal for the holidays.

I think, Do something you love and if it Qualifies for a badge, Fine if you want to apply, and fine if you don't. Also some of the badges are soooooooooooooo simple, Most of you have completed what is necessary to earn one and you don't even know it. Everyone is not interested in Badges. Mary Jane made it clear in the new issue of her magazine that Badges have nothing to do with being Farm Girl of the Year! Badges are just there for those who want to participate! I never got to be in the Girl scouts, so I am getting a kick out of it! LOL! For me, I want to fill up that fancy white apron I bought with them! LOL! Hugs!

Way back at the beginning of this thread, Connie said, "Great idea. If I'm not mistaken, the teaching part can be used towards a MJF Badge. It would also be nice if the project also applied towards a badge. Just a thought.", and Debbie Mama Hen responded that this was a good idea.

So that is why I made suggestions of a merit badge craft for December...of course, no one has to apply for a badge, I was just asking what of those particular badges that could be slanted for holidays would anyone be interested in?
take care,
Rain

Connie, that is perfectly stated...if you want a badge and it applies...go for it...if you don't care about badges that's ok too!

Love ya!
