Well, as most of you have seen (if you got the updated list) I am now in the inactive pile. Although it was NOT suppose to be until the end of September, I guess someone felt the need to move me out quicker.
Anyway, I will miss so many of you girls, but I feel as though I need to focus on getting what is important in my life, and that being that my home be finished and complete. I also need to find my center again, to realize that giving your all may mean giving only 25% and not 100% (I may never get there tho):)
and not really certain that I want to.
For those of you that I am partners with I DO plan on honoring my commitment of the swaps I signed on for. Please don't think that I would ever be one of those ...
Anyway, you all have been wonderful friends, and please stop by the farm and let me know you came. Please keep in touch ...
Teri

Oh Teri, I will miss you so much on here, but I will stop by the farm to see you. Please come back soon!

Teri, I totally understand life taking over...and seriously, would you rather not do the Fall swap with me? I could just take one of Debbie's two swap partners, and you are off the hook. Let me know, and obviously no hurt feelings, I just want you to have space for your life! take good care, Rain

Teri,I am sorry I did not see the September 30th date, there is so much going on in my life as well and I am trying to juggle it all. I knew you wanted to be inactive as you told me a week or so ago, so that is why I did it now. Did not mean to jump the gun seriously thought that is what you wanted. Just because you choose to be inactive does not mean you are not part of the HH, you can continue as always reading and posting posts until you no longer want too. Rain, just let me know if you need another partner. Hugs, Debbie

Teri, I will miss your "smiling face", on the HH. I totally understand, but that doesn't mean I won't miss you! I will be checking in with you on the Farm from time to time. Big Hugs, Ruth

Teri, I will miss you but I will keep up with you through my "visits" to the farm. Hope all goes well and you do what you need to. Even though you have to leave for a time you will always be part of the HH.
hugs, Denise~~ Farmgirl sister#43

I too find it difficult to balance it all, motherhood, business owner, quilter, teacher...etc...! Although I have not asked to become inactive, I do not feel the need to be 100% here. Perhaps that is wrong of me. Is that something I too should ask, to become an "inactive member"? After reading this post by Teri, I'm really not sure what is expected of me on this forum.

Okay, here goes....Mama Hen asked me to post for her (as her computer is down) regarding the active vs. inactive subject in the Henhouse.
All of us girls should be here because we want to be here and have fun...not because we feel we have to be. We do not have to post every single day, post on every single thread, participate in every swap, etc., etc., etc. We all know this. The Henhouse should be a place of fun and friendship.
That being said, there is and should be a level of participation for anyone who is an "active" member of the Henhouse. That level would be participating in a swap once in awhile, maybe sending a birthday card or posting a wish for a birthday, a post here and there just to say hi, or comment on a thread, or do one of the crafts. Most all of us do that, and do it happily. Every single one of us has a busy personal life outside MJF...be it jobs, family, health issues, running a farm, you name it. Yet, almost all of us still find the time to be active, happy members of the henhouse that our Mama Hen is so proud of. The consensus is that if you are too busy to participate, you should probably step back, go on an "inactive" status and see if your situation changes and you feel more able to participate. If you don't ever post or participate, there is really not much of a reason to be in the Henhouse, especially if you are very active on the other MJF forum. Bottom line is that anyone who wants to be "active" can find the time to post even once a week to say "hi, have a great weekend" or some such thing. Hope that clears up any questions on what is "expected" of an active member.
Thanks girls!!

Tammy...thanks for that post. I get the same thing all the time as The Mail Art Hostess. People are always asking to take a break and that is just fine. I put them back in when they want to. I had already put Teri in an Inactive Status when Mama Hen first told us that she needed a break. But I too love to check in on her Farm Blog and such. We don't write her off in our hearts and minds. Unless she later decides to no longer participate (which I hope she won't but it's up to her). Seems Simple To Me!
blessings and hugs, Peggy
