Our facebook page is up and running under the name Scattered Prairie Girls (no henhouse at the end). Here is the address:

https://www.facebook.com/scatteredprairiegalshenhouse

Please like us on Facebook. It will be a great way for us to share photographs and what not.

I did "like" a couple of pages such as Mary Jane Butter, of course! It's always pleasant to have an entertaining newsfeed.

I did use the picture from our last FB page and added a cover photo of my "girls". I'll be updating it as time goes buy.

Cheers!

Is it just a page or a group? Wasn't sure if it is like a closed group or open to the public to join?

Right now it is open to the public. Do we want to keep it that way or do we want it to be a closed group? The FB page is not intend for posting private information. I think it would be nice to let others know about how wonderful many of you are. Of course, it is all up to what u'all want to do!

I would have said private, but whatever Mama Hen wants is fine by me!

It is really not up to me, I feel we all should have an opinion then majority rules. Does that sound fair?

Absolutely you can be the colorful chick in the back, great pics on the page. Actually it was Carole who updated and I believe it was Beverly Chivington who set it up originally, we are just trying to keep it active and updated.

If part of the purpose of the fb page is to share photos then I will have to go with private.

Umm, good point Denise. So on that note I too would like to keep it private and only for our Chicks in the Hen House.
Vote now 3-1.

Debbie

BTW this is a "new" Facebook page and it is not related to the prior one. The chickens or what I like to call the "girls" are from my flock.

It's my understanding that Beverly Chivington had started one, which can be viewed here:

https://www.facebook.com/scatteredprairie.henhouse?fref=ts

She is no longer participating and since none of us were made administrator, we have no way of making changes. Hence why I opened a new page and omitted "henhouse"

I just want to say something regarding the facebook being private, for those that do not have a facebook account, they will not be able to see what the others gals are up too.

Whether we are public or private, makes no difference to me, but it would to those who wish to not have a facebook account.

Please feel free to post on the FB page. As I mentioned our newsfeed has some interesting information.

Can a person even see anything on Facebook without having an account Carole? I thought we had to have an account to see anything on Facebook.

When a page is public, anyone can view it and depending on the setting, post pictures. When it is private, you will only see what is programmed to be seen and only friends can view it. Again, depending on the setting. Hope this helps

I think public is a good idea, it isn't the same as being here on our forum.

I found out that unless you have an actual Facebook account you can't get on Facebook anyway. So it would only be private or public to those who have accounts. My understanding of the one post here was that people who don't have a Facebook account could see it if it was public but that is not possible without an account for Facebook. So public or private doesn't really matter unless you want to keep other Facebook users from reading the page and seeing what is posted there.

I know that I, for one, would not post on the page if it were public. So thank you Mama Hen for keeping it private!
