Aw Peggy, how did the dentist appointment go? The ribs sound fabulous though.

Well it sounds as though it is getting wild out there. My internet was down this week-end and I have this new computer and it is not very cooperative yet so forgive me for my absence. I love being on the his sight with everyone and I have been working on my 4th of July swap surprise as well.
I hope everyone is ok.

Blessings

I'm not laughing at you Peggy really I'm not :0 You seriously swallowed your tooth...that is horrifying. One of my kids did that when they lost a tooth and the look on their face was priceless. I think it's soup and jello for you my friend. I hope they were able to fix it today!! The apron swap will be great fun...thanks Julie! And Debbie for the 4th of July swap...two swaps to look forward to!

It is rough outside of the hen house too. I received an email from someone who felt the need to reprimand me for my original post. My apology was mentioned and I was told that maybe I would learn from this not do that again. I have. learned quite a bit from this experience to say the least. I am disheartened because when looking this person up on the forum by the username it does not come up. I really don't believe that the main forum is the type of spirit I am looking for.
Things are going ok with getting things packed here. thanks for your prayers.

hugs,
Denise~~

Oh Denise,
I am so sorry that you have encountered the " best of the worst" as I call them on the "dark side".
I too have had a few encounters with mean, nasty farm girls as I know a few others that where e mailed privately and harassed.
That is so not right, I had one such person do it to me ... wrong person to do it to. I told her to stop and when she did not I told her last chance, if she did not take this mean, awful post down where people were attacking each other over animal care, I would copy and paste her NASTY e mails to me for all to see!
Needless to say, post deleted, and from then on I just don't feel the same way about that side.
But, I am a firm believer in the philosophy of Mary Jane's Farm so I became a farm girl, and try very hard to to live up that that standard.
As said I just do NOT do DRAMA.
Sorry again, you did NOTHING wrong.

Teri

She emailed yet again even after I said for her not too. She said it wasn't specified in my apology post not to. She felt I was attacking Joey. That was not my intent and when I realized what my post had started that was why I felt I needed to apologize. I have so much going on in my life right now that I just can't deal with any more drama.

Denise, maybe she meant to email me! You were most certainly not attacking Joey. There was no need to apologize. I would take a page out of Teri's book and if she emails you again, tell her you will post her nasty email for all to see. Again, that's why I'm sticking only to our henhouse. Some of these farmgirls on the "dark side" just plain like to stir up trouble. They need to get a life!

Denise ignore her, block her emails she is not worth it and not the type of farmgirl that we want to be involved with.

Oooo, my husband and I came back from a three day mini vacation in Lancanster County, Pa. I went antiquing and came across some really cute stuff. One of the things I'm crazy about is wooden rolling pins. I actually found one with the red tips. So of course, LOL, I bought it. Then I found a really old metal spin top that I purchased for my little Hannah (grandbaby). She chases it all over the house. It was fun to get away and clear my head!

Oh Joan, I love wooden rolling pins too, just found one in northern Minneasota that still had a piece of baling twine attached to the handle. I assume it was used to hang on a wall.

Joan, I just love the old rolling pins. I have one with the red handles and I managed to grab my mom's old one even though one of the handles is missing! LOL. I often wonder how it happened to get broken. ;)

I have My Great-Grandmother's rolling pin and the handles are light green. I love them too!!! I have it on a shelf in my kitchen along with my granny's metal ice trays. My cousin made a towel rack out of hers by mounting it on the end of her work Island. It is cute, It has the red handles.

A towel rack, what a neat idea! It seems now that dad is here I have acquired a lot of my mom's stuff. I have aprons from the 3 generations before me.

I wish I had aprons from even one generation! I don't remember my mom ever wearing an apron :(
So, I've just had to collect my own vintage aprons!

It is fun antique shopping, my Land Lord's mother owns a shop and it has so much stuff in the store. It is a little overwhelming going in there sometimes.
Vintage aprons are neat, the material is different from now.
Are the red handled rolling pins the older ones?

I was lucky enough to get to keep my husband grandmothers rolling pin when she passed. She was a great cook, so I know that rolling pin has lots of stories.

I'm not sure Darlene if the red handle rolling pins are older but they seem to be very hard to find. I have my mom's green handle rolling pin, but I see so many of that color.

Joan, I hardly ever see the green handle ones around here. But now I am thinking of a place near here. Maybe I will have to go there and check to see if they have any rolling pins. I have three so a collection has started! LOL!

I have never seen a green handled one. I have a marble rolling pin it is in the cupboard, I don't use it much.
I want to but haven't really had the time or space to do it.
Well enjoy the evening.
