Ouch! It's rough our there in the "Big ole Mary Janes Farm Forums" It's nice and cozy here with Mama Hen and all you chicks! I am working on my 4th of July Swap. The Humid West Tennessee heat is beginning to settle in, so inside, with a bottle of glue and my sewing machine is where I will be till October!! except for watering my patio garden by moonlight. Our neighbor's dog, Scooter usually comes over to join me for a Milk-Bone and we watch the fire flies. They look like 1000's of miniature Christmas lights! Big Farm Chick Hug! Connie

It sounds lovely there Connie...we don't get fireflies out here in California. Yep, I'm sticking to our cozy henhouse from now on too :)

Connie,
You are so right, I am calling it the "dark side" They are pretty rough on MJF. That is why I have all but exited ...
I like it over here, no DRAMA all the time. No asking for someomes opinion and then saying "well that was just a mean thing to say" no time for that!
And here in KY. it was so hot yesterday, and yes the humid weather is here for at least the next 3+ months!
We do the same thing sit on the porch in our rockers with the outside ceiling fan going , all lights off just watching the lighting bugs dance! No better place to be on a warm KY. night!

Well I just think I am going to join you girls, except here it is on my deck and I only wish for warm, dry weather. No fire flies yet, but I can listen to the bug zapper go non-stop on the water bugs and mosquitos.I did post an old-fashioned apron swap this morning, so Teri, Tammy and Connie please think about joining and Tammy, I know you are going to say you don't sew, but you are so talented so go get a pre-made apron and bling it up! I know I would love it! And I don't care if there is one tuck, 10, none, it's all about sharing farm girl love and meeting a new friend. I didn't do "drama" in my younger days and I won't go there now.

Have a great day girls!

Amen to that Julie! I've got a 15 year old daughter, and that's quite enough drama for me...LOL
I just joined your apron swap, and can't wait. I love aprons, and I have an idea already! Pinterest is my friend for cool ideas :) I don't sew...hahaha...how did you know! But I promise I will find a great apron! Thanks for your generous spirit...you are an awesome farmgirl.

Hugs, Tammy

Tammy,
i have made them, I even made one last year as a tut on my blog ... but I really just do not have time as of late ... a lot of outside work this year.
But, I don't care to buy them ... I also have quite a few vintage aprons ... maybe my swap partner likes vintage ... should be fun tho.

Oh Dear, I am away but did manage to get on the "big" forum for a minute and saw that things were out of hand with my post. I believe it has been removed. I did however agree with the post about leaving the option open and just not specifying one way or the other. I feel bad that it got way out of hand. I am assuming that is the post you are referring to.

I agree and I think because these are more intimate in the henhouse is why I prefer it here.

hugs,
Denise~~

Denise,
I don't think you started anything ... I just think that this is the way the "dark side" has been rolling as of late.
Because as I stated to another farm girl (off line) that if it truely is a dollar amount issue, then an easy fix would be set a $ amount including shipping ...
But, I really believe that it is something much deeper than that ...
And some people just NEED to get a last word in ...

So true Teri, and Denise you did not start anything at all. Your one and only comment was polite and just ruly questioning what has happened. Not your fault that the "dark side" turned it into a debate.

Yep, sticking to our henhouse chicks is the way I'm going!

What would I do with out all my chicks, thanks each and everyone of you for being the wonderful farmgirl sisters you are. Life is good here too, sitting out on the deck with my hubby. We took a hike yesterday with our doxies to the forest it was fun but we sure missed our Golden Retriever Gracie. But, it felt good to be out in the sun walk, and just relax for a couple of hours.
Today I will clean house and get ready for our son's visit Wednesday for Father's Day Weekend. Oh yes and I continue to work on my 4th of July project for my swap.
Julie I love aprons too and have quite a collection but do not sew that much at all, but I have vintage aprons I love to share with my sisters.
Have a beautiful week my chicks and know how much I appreciate each and every one of you.
Luv Ya,
Proud Mama Hen aka Debbie

Good Morning ladies,
Denise please don't feel bad about asking a question many of us were asking ourselves. Things are only an issue if people continue to make them one. Debbie, I love vintage aprons too, as I have said it is all good and I am so glad you are joining in. It has been much to long since we have had an apron swap and I really hope at some point the "dark side" returns to the forum it was. For now I think cuddling up in the hen house is a good place to be.

Have a wonderful day girls.
Hugs
Julie

I love vintage too! and I will be giving a vintage Apron. It is a busy time of year where I work, with so many vacations ,I have to fill in more, so may not have time to sew, but I might!! LOL!! I have very good, clean washed and ironed ones to swap! I remember as a little girl, about age 7, Granny saved the easy things for me to iron, pillow cases and aprons. I always thought wow, I could never iron my paw's shirt! Little did I know, I was going to get very good at it in the 70's and 80's ironing my hubby's school shirts!

I guess my computer likes me today the last few days I had the worst trying to go anywhere or post. Been busy the last few days, and sure do miss my sweet sisters here. It was hot today and the humidity was horrible. I got home and the sun was shining and it started raining. It kind of cooled it off a little. So I am giving my sweet sisters Group Hug!!!!!

Nurturing my container garden on my balcony and enjoying sitting out there for am coffee!!

Have gkids coming over today for a few days. The apt complex pool is now open and they love to come swim. I usually take them earlier am when it's still cooler and nobody is there, lol! They love it!

Going to plant some green beans and tomatoes and eggplant today with their help!

Sounds like a lovely day Brenda! Here it is raining. I so love the sound of rain. For a while, we were in need of rain as the lake level (Lake Champlain) was quite low. It is now way up! I will not complain about rain, rain is good. I am wondering though what the summer holds. Cheers!

OK Farm Sisters...Wow, couldn't believe the debate that wasn't suppose to be a debate. I won't called it the "dark-side" maybe
just the "Less In-lightened Side" about playing nice on the Forums. Tammy you are right when you say it really has changed. Too much
Drama...Not Enough Fun...but I guess that is why we are all here in Debbie's Hen House.

Last Night I invited my youngest son's family over for dinner (I was really wanting to play with the baby there was a method to my madness)... Anyway, I fixed BBQ ribs, corn on the cop, broccoli and
Strawberry Shortcake. I took one bite of my ribs and they were so moist and tender (patting myself on the back...choke) and the
next bite...I bit something hard. Pulled it out of my mouth and it was one of the very front teeth of my denture. Nice!! Couldn't be a back tooth... no...right in the front. So, I go
in to the Denturist at 4:20 today. It had just passed the one year mark since I got them...so now the bill is on me. This is
however the second time I have lost a tooth out of this denture. Do they not making anything that lasts anymore???? So, I am
praying that he can fix it on the spot and that I won't have to walk around like an Ol' Mountain Mama for three days. Last time
I had swallowed the tooth and they had to make a whole new one...and it did take three days. I'm praying for a miracle today!!! LOL

OK...looks like many of us joined Teri's Apron Swap. I am looking forward to it.

More Later MY Lovelies,
Peggy

Sitting in my recliner playing "beauty shop" with my granddaughters right now, one is fixing my hair ( no there will be no pictures) and the other one is rubbing lotion on grandmas feet and legs for a pedicure, boy do I think I could get used this. At least they aren't fighting like they were earlier.
