Hi there FGSW Henhouse "Chicks",
I've been thinking of other ways we could, as the members of our Henhouse, "connect" more often. You all do such a wonderful job considering that we are "virtual" and don't see each other often, if at all.
BUT, we can CONNECT.
Soooooo, my first idea for us Farmgirls Southwest Henhouse "Chicks" is for a VALENTINE Exchange, just for us.
- you would need to sign up here that you want to participate - you would send ONE Valentine to EACH person who signs up. - they can be purchased or handmade, whatever works for you
So, let me know as soon as you can if you'd like to participate and then I can post a list later on.
Let's set the sign up deadline for JANUARY 20th, get them in the mail by FEBRUARY 1st.
I'm guessing there would be around 12 - 15 or so signup. But that is just a guess.
Should be a fun way for a "Chick Connect".
VALENTINE LIST: (so far) - Debbie - Marilyn - Pam - CJ - Robin - Amy - Rain - Diana - Rali - Kathy - Margo . . possibly
THANKS! CJ . . the ole mother hen

Glad to see everyone here I have missed all of you and hope to be much more active in the New Year. Also hope to meet a lot of the farmgirls on the Western Slope in the spring when I take Marilyn (mountainmama) to my old stomping grounds in Montrose where my family and I lived for 10 years, and we visit all of our farmgirl sisters in Dolores, Hotchkiss, Paonia and any other new farmgirls we can find along the way. Come on Spring I am ready to go on an adventure it has been a very long year. FArmgirl Hugs, Deb

Wow! With all the postings regarding this "hot" topic, I went out and bought a bunch of Valentine's Day cards. I didn't want to make a trip to the store in late January only to discover they are sold out! That's been my modus operandi lately but, hope to turn that around in the New Year. |

This sounds like fun. Count me in, although I'm not coming up with any ideas at the moment. I may end up buying cards if inspiration doesn't strike. That makes me think of all of those cheesy valentines I bought when my kids traded at school. Surely I can come up with something better than that.

I thought we were waiting until February to send them out. I've had mine done and will get them in the mail right away.

Kathy, It was just stated for them to be mailed by February 1st in my first post. But you can mail them anytime you want . . . and you don't have to do it right away. I have a lot of projects going and soon will start my serious "apron production" . . . so I try to get things done before the final hour. So, since mine were done, I thought I'd give you girls a little Valentine "joy" early. Thanks much! CJ

Hi everyone, Thank you CJ and (everyone else in advance)for the great Valentine! My will go out soon...I had lots of fun with a digital scrapbooking software called "My Memories" that I received as a gift and made some calendars with for the holidays. So please excuse any mistakes you see! Off topic question: have any of you cooked in a wood fired stove oven? We installed a Vermont Bun Baker (saw an ad in MJF back in the summer, saved money, finally installed)and it has an oven box below the fire box with a soapstone surround. I have been reading up and trying various things but not brave enough to bake anything temperature sensitive yet. Is there a general chatroom thread, or ??? I didn't see anything yet. Just a thought if all ya'll had any ideas. Rain
