Well Henhouse "Chicks", the new for 2011 Merit Badges are listed in the Merit Badge thread. They have added quite a few.

There are the new additions:
for FARMGIRL LEGENDS:
- Farmgirl Guide
- Chapter Leader
- Chapter Guru

for EACH OTHER
- Farmgirl Grammar
- Know Your Roots

for FARM KITCHEN
- Unprocessed Kitchen

for MAKE IT EASY
- Crafts-hens
- Grease Chicks
- Let's Get Physical

for OUTPOST
- First Aid
- Stargazing Chicks
- Woman-at-Arms

The only categories there are NO ADDITIONS to are:
- CLEANING UP
- GARDEN GATE

You can go to the EARN MERIT BADGES .. . forum section, find the list, click on each one and print out the criteria page.

As some have said before, this can be overwhelming if you let it, but try to just look at some that interest you or you think you've already got 'em "nailed" and go from there.

If anyone buys any of the books required for any of these new ones, let us all know and hopefully we can share them.

Most of all . . HAVE FUN!!!!!
And, as Red Green says "I'm pulling for ya'"!!!
CJ

for STITCHING & CRAFTING
- Scrapbooking
- Spinning
- Dyeing for Color
- Weaving

P.S. Just a note. I did have an email from Kevin today and they may not have all the templates for the new badges loaded. He said it'd be a couple of days.

I'm going for some of them soon . . . and, now I can tell you this. Kevin and I were "conniving" on the GREASE CHICKS one.

I've had a chance to look over a few of the new badges and I'm really excited! I've always wanted to learn to spin and weave and I've done a little of dye work. I've also been inspired to create a couple of scrapbooks for my granddaughters and another for my daughter from our vacation last September. I used to do this with my kids when they were younger but I haven't even printed out any pictures in several years. The challenge is going to find time to work this into my already busy schedule.

I've been working on a very simple sampler for the last month and it seems like I rarely have time to get to it. So my first goal will be to finish that and then move on to some new projects.

Hi Kathy~
Wish we lived closer as my New Year's Resolution is to learn to Spin as well. I bought myself a Drop Spindle Kit which I thought would be easier to learn on but I have not even tried it yet.
I just finished my first merit badge so I am very excited about that and anxious to move on to the next project. But, it will have to wait until after my Carpel Tunnel Syndrome surgery and recuperation. Anyway, I also wanted to let you know we are trying to plan a trip within the next couple of weeks to visit our son in Denver, so I am hoping to have time for you and I to meet. I will keep you posted.

Farm girl Hugs,
Debbie

Congrats Debbie on your first badge. Doesn't it feel great!

Good luck with the recovery and make sure you do all the exercises.

No, but my mom had some hand surgery. They had her playing with marbles and balls and rubber bands, but she kept at it and has full mobility.

Debbie, congratulations on getting your first badge!

That would be fun to get together. The next couple of weeks are busy for me with lessons, interviews and auditions for Ethan's college application. After that I think I will have more time. I say "think" because with 6 kids unexpected things just keep popping up. Hopefully, I'll have a free moment when you come to town.
