I didn't even look past the first page to see that there were lots more to choose from. :-) I like the turtle too as I've always liked turtles. I still like the cactus from the first site really well too. Debbie and Rusty mentioned the rooster and it does go with the henhouse theme but I don't think it looks much like a rooster. It has a horsey looking head which makes it look like a Pegasus to me. What do the rest of you think?
I'll give it a few days to see if anyone else chimes in with something different they like. Then I'll compile a list from the ones mentioned and we can vote for our favorite.

I concur on the cactus. Lots of neat charms, but that one I think represents us best of what I saw.

Now yall I hope you won't kick me out the door here, but I have to say this farmgirl...is just that girly...I am into flowers and more feminine things...but please don't feel you can't go ahead with the cactus...I will just not get a charm...and I am ok with that...I just love more feminine and dainty girlish things...I think I was born in the wrong era...hahaha Tammy

I think everybody has had enough time to express an opinion about a charm for our henhouse. Maybe the new chicks will see this post and can vote too. For Chelley, Cindy, and Kelly, We're getting a charm to represent our henhouse to put on a bracelet like the one MaryJane gave instructions to in the last issue of "The Cluck". Of course, if someone wants to do something else with it we aren't going to tell them they can't. :-)
We'll vote for one from a list of the ones that everyone mentioned liking.
cactus (found at http://tinyurl.com/27t3qrf )
cowboy hat rooster turtle lizard
The last four are found at this website. http://tinyurl.com/27gjp26 I think the cowboy hat and rooster are on the first page and the turtle and lizard are on the second page.
So anyone that wants to participate in getting a charm can vote. Let's get our votes in before Thanksgiving.

Hi, I will vote for the cactus and thank you Mother Hen for sharing the information about the Cacti. I too had never heard that. Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

I've been looking around some more (just to complicate things) and found two other rooster charms. A rooster would fit in with the henhouse theme really well but I don't care much for the rooster that was on the website I referenced earlier. He just doesn't look like any rooster I've ever seen. lol We don't have to go with a rooster but I thought I'd offer these choices if it would influence your vote in any way.
Here are two others that I found. It looks like the person on etsy would be willing to make however many we need.

Kathy, I really like the one on etsy and would prefer that as well but it says they only have 1 available. It is perfect I think. Thanks for checking on them.

I agree with Debbie - I love the ones on etsy. Thank you for taking the time to locate more rooster looking roosters......My vote goes with etsy roosters.
Love-

I like the chicken/rooster on the etsy site. Just to throw out another idea - how about the cowgirl(?) boot (without the spurs). Now I have to dig out my old charm bracelet and start collecting again.

How long does it usually take to hear about the badges you submit for? It has been at least a week and I don't remember the others taking that long. |

Laura, I guess you already heard but I wanted to say that it took longer this last time for me to hear than it has in the past. Maybe there are just so many badge applications right now that it takes a long time to get through them all.

I bet you've all been waiting to hear which charm was the winner. lol Since it seems that a lot of people liked the rooster to represent us as a farmgirl henhouse we've decided to go with that. In particular, it will be the one listed on etsy as the seller was able to make enough for the whole flock of us. And Santa's elves have been busily working away at a plan to make sure everybody gets one.
For those of you who really liked any of the other charms you can add them to your collection by following the links and placing your own order.
Thanks to all, Kathy |
